Visit the Grove. One of the great college football scenes.

If you love pretentious assholes, candelabras, cold chicken fingers, and unwelcoming fans... the grove is the place for you. Ole Miss fans are at the bottom of the SEC.

Just a heads up. Friday someone has scheduled an exhibition basketball game on The Square at 6:30 pm, I shite you not. The Square will be a nightmare. The town will be packed so anything you want to do try for reservations if it's not too late. Ajax would be great before the game but you'll have to get in line before it opens.

I suggest going to W. Memphis. Park anywhere and walk freely for the evening. Take lots of cash to distribute to all the super-friendly and charismatic locals you meet. You may even get a free tour of one of Memphis most popular nightspots, The ER.

Seriously, Do hope safe travels, a good time, a good game and that the return is long and sad.

Lots of places in Oxford will not take reservations (don't know the exact list, but I know there are a few). Regardless you need to go to the square early on Friday if you are going to want to get a spot anywhere. City Grocery and Boure are two of the best with nice balconies, weather is going to be great so you can sit outside and drink.

regarding the basketball thing, it's something we have started to do every year called Square Jam. they set up a court on the square and have a dunk contest with ole miss players. it will most likely be pretty packed so even more emphasis on the early part.

Hate that you are staying in Batesville and will have to make the drive. Probably best if your driver stays sober as OPD will literally do just about anything to give DUI tickets (main source of revenue im guessing). Overall should be a fantastic weekend, great weather, and get to relive historic rivalry.
