True but it showed 2 of our starters and a lot of the bullpen was shaky. We gave 5 or more runs in all 6 of those games so no dominant pitching performances outside a few guys

If milam was playing SS last year he would have been 3rd in conference in average among shortstops. As a freshman. But either way if you have a good defensive SS who hits just average, then you have a good thing.

My god the intellect of some of you people. We lost a series on the road to a top 5 team, and are 4-2 in the conference. LOL. You can't make this up. We had a very good chance to steal that series on the road, which is very hard to do....and came up a little short on Saturday night. Win the next series, and we are at a minimum 6-3 on the year....which is great. Lots of trolls on here, and lots of young people without a clue. Those of us that have been around since the 80s, realize the real season starts in 3 or 4 weeks. If we haven't improved by then, then we may have a problem. Jay's teams usually get better....and this one, with so many new people, will most certainly do so. The goal is 20-10, National Seed. Anything else in the regular season is overkill.

LSU came out flat on Sunday. Plain and simple. From dropping fly balls, to taking bad reads and bobbling hit balls, to watching strikes fly by only to swing at balls in the dirt - this was a team effort loss. It is what it is.
Good news is that we have rest of the season ahead of us.

Dickinson is solid at 2B and at the plate.
Their BA is almost identical to this point and Milam has way less Ks.

Don’t forget we had two teams cancel on us and we had to pick up 2 weekend teams late in the process. Not many options at that point

Texas has a heckuva pulse from what I saw.
Superior defensive outfield play....the opposite of LSU
Strong hitting lineup with power.....the opposite of LSU except for 1bman.
Strong starting pitching and relief pitching...well we saw what we have.
I think Texas is a strong contender for SEC title.
I hope LSU can make some changes and match them as the season goes on.
