They pitched a pitcher as the starter that is coming off of injury and that has never pitched in college before (resulting in a 3 run deficit right out of the gate).

Is this why we only had 2 hits?

we lost 2/3 to a top 5 A&M team in a series that could have gone either way. we beat Auburn 2/3 and beat #2 Vandy 2/3. Alabama was probably a bad series loss. Looking at the season, as a whole, losing 8 starters, it has been about what should have been expected outside Lange's struggles. Hopefully he continues to pitch like he did this past Friday.

Fair enough, and I agree, but I feel like that is what I have been basically saying but people are quick to shite on it for some reason.

Vandy played their worst all year. Really bad defense. And Bama sweeps us if not for the sun being out.

All that being said, we are where I thought we'd be. I figured we would be 6-6 although I guessed a swap in win/loss with Vandy and Tamu.

35-21 overall. 15-15 SEC. Still on track. Won't host.

Minus the whole melting over losing a midweek game thing, sure.

Glad to see that term is being thrown around loosely.'

Also, "a" midweek game has turned into several.

Three. All to decent to good teams. Melt away, hoss.

And fwiw I was referring to your melt over the Lamar game which looks particularly pathetic in retrospect

because midweek losses happen to everyone at some point, even embarrassing ones. It's the nature of baseball. Sometimes a pitcher is on, you can't find holes, hits don't drop. It's a weird sport. And in a midweek game where you're not as focused because the game's importance is far less, games like last night are much more likely. It's people blowing the loss out of proportion that is ridiculous, like this one loss is going to hurt our chances at hosting or being selected for the NCAA tournament

Now you just sound like a contrarian douche. Didn't really call you out personally or act like a shithead to you. GFY.

Vandy's defense has been pretty poor the last several weeks. Lange also pitched better than he has all season, and so did Poche. We also hit better than we had in a series all season. Baseball is a sport of variance, which is another reason why last night's game shouldn't be taken so personally by so many people. But yes, as a whole, LSU is around where I expected them to be

I don't think you know what contrarian means. Anyway, I hope you can dry your tears and enjoy your Wednesday. Geaux Tigers

lol Isn't that a tie for the total seemingly-pointless midweek games we have lost in the last couple of years combined? Someone must have that info.

why are you comparing this team to our last two? I don't think anyone has said this team is as good as either

losing to teams like that, has nothing to do with the team not being good. It all has to do with leadership. You have to have guys that won't put up with that. Its easy to get up for SEC teams.

I understand it's baseball and crazy things happen, but losing 3 mid-week games this year, all in embarrassing fashion against Lamar, Tulane, and McNesse State, doesn't look good for us. Lamar game we absolutely choke, and the Tulane and McNesse State games looked like we didn't show up. Hope they pick it up this weekend against Missouri.

Yeah , probably should not even go to Mizzo , just disband and grow a nice vegetable garden....

Tweaking the lineup after the best weekend of hitting this year probably wasnt to smart of an idea either....LSU has got to stop dropping these midweek games, I understand that we are having a rebuild year after loosing 8 starters but lamar tulane and mcneese is unacceptable

To be real, this is a team that is young and just a little better than average. The coaching staff is very average and very over-rated from top to bottom.
