Coach Ed Orgeron knows where all the bodies are buried. Coach could have acted more mature after his divorce but he has and always has liked to have a good time. Nothing wrong with that unless you are running a 100 million dollar a year brand and the face of the program. I’m glad it’s been handled the way it’s been done on both sides so we can hunker down on Title IX allegations and hopefully get back to winning.

Given how Woodward has handled everything this far, I’m really excited to see who we get as AD.
So do you want Woodward replaced

I was one speculating that the buyout would be 7 to 10M over a 3-5 year period. However, looking at the angle of where the program stands relative to the ongoing NCAA investigation and the issues with title ix, it makes perfect sense to give him the full buyout. Most of the time byputs are negotiate down for a lot of different reasons. Like several posters have mentioned Ed knows where all the bodies are buried. He also understands everything about the title ix investigation. He has agreed to make appearances on behalf of LSU because of that. It’s a win-win in my opinion. What he loses are all of those opportunities to make incentives that was not in the base contract. So he is losing a lot of potential future earnings.
When considering all of this, future prospective coaches are going to look at how he handled the situation before they ever sign a contract. If they see a coach who just won a national championship fired they are going to want to know that they have some protection before they ever sign. Yes this buyout makes a lot of sense.

Coach O was chasing young skirts and not concentrating on football after 2019. He divorced his wife of many years.

In a legal since O had the school by the balls with how he and the school handled sexual assault allegations. The didn't remember Penn Stste and Baylor? Surprised O stayed this long.

The only thing "fishy" about your insight is that you're the only one who's speculating about absolutely nothing. Calm down child and go put your dunce cap on and think about the dumb ish you just said troll!!

No, what happened was the “insiders” here and in the media who have been saying O would be fired for cause didn’t know what they were talking about.
Or LSU didn’t want to open discovery and drag the school into years of litigation especially with the new upcoming SEC TV contract which will yield LSU a significant amount more in their annual TV royalty payout.
