Firing him on a Wednesday feels strange

Maryland has a bye this week, so that gives them a little more leeway, but it’s definitely strange timing, especially since the fanbase has been clamoring for the AD to say something/anything since Saturday.

The AD doesn’t have experience in collegiate athletics. He has a fundraising background at Ohio State, and then worked for Arthur Blank for for years spearheading construction of Mercedes-Benz stadium and acquiring the MLS team. He’s never been involved with the hiring or firing of a football coach.

That’s why Locksley was still employed mid-week. Most other ADs would have had the trigger ready leading into the Rutgers game. It took Maryland four days to get their ducks in a row.

That makes LSU kicking Kelly to the curb less than 24 hours after he had a halftime LEAD vs Texas A&M all the more impressive.

The fact he got as many years as he did being as awful as he's been is insane.

Even w/how bad he's been them doing this on a Wednesday makes me wonder if the last straw wasn't the losing but that he was told to make a staff change and refused.

Does the Maryland Football HC really deserve a coaching changes board being opened?
