True, but

2. Les has done a better job and the fact that he didn't build it does not diminish the job he's done

And I was a miles doubter

i was going to put in my two cents but after reading this, there is no need. exactly what i think.

He didn't build the program, he made it better while he was there, and the program is even better now since he left. Thank you Saban, along with thanks to other great coaches at LSU.

Saban absolutely built LSU's program to what it is today. Conversely, Miles built Oklahoma State to what it is today. Either way, Miles is pretty damn good.

both of these statements are ridiculous and wrong, not to mention intelectually lazy.

Saban and Miles have not coached at LSU and OSU since 2004, to give either credit for the current success at those schools is silly. Just look at Florida.

However, its worth noting that Gerry DiNardo took over a program that had 6 straight losing seasons and won bowl games in each of his first 3 seasons. He was terrible his last 2 years, but did not leave the cuppard bare and plans were underway to expand the stadium and facilities were upgraded on his watch.

ETA: "died in battle" is rhetorical. It's a euphemism for "left Capital One Bowl in a different plane."

I was being sarcastic. I was trying to convey that if Saban built LSU, Miles built OSU. Neither is true.

H-Town, some days I think that only you, me and a few others even think about thinking about all of that. The Angry Little Man's PR machine has many brainwashed.

I think that person is sayin Saban made LSU a powerhouse program, if you don't believe that you are in denial. Now coach Miles has done a wonderful job of keeping it going and probably has even surpassed the talent level Saban had it at by locking down all the best bluechip players in the state while recruiting out of the state in the surrounding areas.

Don't forget the two cameras they have for security focused on the statue and the security guards making rounds on it.

THE GUY USED TO BITCH REGULARLY ABOUT RUMORS.

Then when someone would say, "Uh, coach, you could quell those and just end the speculation. We wouldn't ask if you wouldn't pettifog."

Coach: "Let's move on."

Or, making out near it. It exudes an animal quality about it - it sweats musk and makes grown men menstruate. Just like Mike's cage, dogs aren't allowed near it because they just airhump until they die.

Yeah. Really the only other coach to "follow a legend" and do as well as Miles is Urban Meyer

Les Miles is a great coach, but I give Nick credit where it is due. I think Nick is the "enabler" as far as LSU football goes, but having the ability to win championships and actually winning them is just as huge of a difference and that is where Les Miles deserves credit.

Nick Saban had to win games with inferior talent and pull major strings to get facilities built for LSU athletics. I do give him credit for that, but LSU was just as much of a blessing to him than he was to it.

I think Dinardo really started the revamping of the program by building a fence around La. recruiting wise. Saban could take some credit for 07 but not this year.

He's been getting his arse kicked by the program he left years ago. Hmmm, not sure what his point is.
