Wait, you think a bar making a profit by selling alcohol is a hot take?

If thinking that spending money to benefit LA organizations instead of making someone rich off of a marketing ploy for nothing in return for you sounds that way. Then sure

We’re they really $5 per shot?

About $465k in Jell-O shots? That’s probably $400k profit.

$475,150 in total sales.

No way it took more than $75,000 to make 95,000 jello shots.

Keep that same energy next time you complain about any facilities not getting upgrades. We'll always have the record of Jello shots!

Imagine if our fans donated 300k plus to any other local BR organization instead of getting nothing out of this competition. Or to the athletics for the renovations / NIL that is complained about often.

The idea that it’s some zero sum game is ridiculous. Get over yourself.

Why do you hate free market capitalism? Are you not trying to get rich, yourself?

Yeah, LSU will not able to upgrade facilities because fans spent $345k on Jell-O shots.

Never mind the millions that were spent on travel and lodging while they were there - it’s the $345k that will be the difference.

Thats cool, but I'm pretty confident in saying not everyone is this way

You have no clue what people do with their money, nor is it any of your business. The fact that a jello shot challenge during the biggest college baseball event of the season, in which our team was in and won, bothers sone of you is pretty silly, imo. People were simply having some fun while enjoying the ride. Now we go back to our normal lives until football season, when we drink the next unsuspecting city out of booze.

Not the point, just saying it could go to anything else and be more beneficial.

I mean, its not some "Zero Sum Game" if you consider holding a record that quite literally nobody other than ourselves cares about as the personal gain, then sure.

Saying that it is none of my business after you quite literally came and gave multiple examples of what you do with your money is wild lmao

Agreed it is none of my business, thats why I just said imagine if that were the case.

The fac tthat the challenge was so important to you during the biggest baseball event of the year is silly imo

It actually was what was implied.

LSU would've won the Jello Shot challenge whether or not any proceeds went to a charity. That any proceeds at all went to charity was just gravy.

If you want more LSU fans to donate to charity, the Jello Shot thread probably isn't the best place to promote it.

Considering the Hot take was that the competitions sucks, it is not what was implied.

It's the fact that justification from people trying to make it sound any other way than a swinging contest was that it was for a "good cause".

My whole reason for the post, not to beg for people to donate to a charity. Was just saying if that is how people would justify it why not do it for locals? But agreed it was not the best thread to be on the other side of the fence for
