Older people understand this, not anyone 40 or younger will. Unless the knowledge and stories were handed down through the family

I’m stunned that in today’s world there are even fights in crowded places anymore. With everyone having a phone and camera in their pocket how do they think they would not get caught and go to jail?

You’d think that this would be a deterrent. Pre cell phones I could see how someone might think they wouldn’t get caught but not in today’s world.

Not to mention the biggest factor in all of this. I am way to old to be throwing fisticuffs in a crowded area. frick all that

Looks like the bad cop has his girlfriend to tell the bullshite spilled beer bullshite, and the other guys have 2 dozen witnesses that are going to tell the truth.

They will hire lawyers sue everyone, he will be fired etc

Trashy? Not at all. This is all about the hatred between 2 fan bases as much as the football teams hated each other on the field.

You guys have no idea what Tiger Stadium used to be like when those teams played. The games mattered then and fans cared. NOBODY WOUKD EVER LEAVE AT frickING 1/2 time

It’s 150% trashy and pathetic. You’re a buffoon and a moron if you think this way and behave this way. You are one of the things wrong with society.

People today want to shoot each other. Back then you rolled up your sleeves and fought.
WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

Please do everyone else a favor and don’t attend any more games if that’s the way you are.

I’m talking 50+ years ago. I described how those games versus TULANE were.
Please do advertise a favor know read and keep it in context.

FOR WHAT IT IS WORTH, I’ve never been in a fight at any event - ever. I’ve never fought inside or a building - not even a bar.
I’ve fought outside in parking lots when drunks ran their mouth or offended my girl friend.

Do you also like bringing people to Ed Orgeron’s fishing hole?
grown men should not act like assholes - that’s for people like you. I’m a lot older than Ed Orgeron and simply described when games mattered to people.

LSU HAS NOT BEEN THE SAME SINCE THE 1980’s. GO WATCH THE STADIUM VERSUS TULANE. You have no idea.

If you’re from Tulane or your family is - you can kiss my old arse.

I’m not sure 40 y/o’s understand. They would have been babies the last time I remember things being like that. They probably wave at the opposing team when they are on their busses instead of rocking them.
There was never a “love” for the opposing team like I see today.
There was nothing but hatred between LSU and other fanbases especially Tulane, Ole Miss and Mississippi State (late 70’s and 80’s). I really didn’t hate Bama nearly like I do now.

It’s fun to give each other a hard time.

But a sports team isn’t a good reason to automatically hate a human.

There is a healthy way to have a rivalry with opposing fans and still be a decent human being about it

Must be an English major. You combine a hard dislike for the opposing team and alcohol, you get a lot of fights. What I’m saying is the LSU fans had a very hard dislike of Tulane sports. Tulane fans had a very hard dislike of LSU Sports. That led to a lot of confrontation.
By the way, look up the word fan. It means fanatical. So I would say there are less “fans” than ever before.

I mean you are correct. Which posters heard what was said to provoke the cop. I have a hard time believing he just became unhinged for no reason while watching a game with his wife

Can’t give a lecture without being an a-hole? Because that’s exactly why I responded like I did.
For the record, I don’t hate anyone and never have. But I will not tolerate people being an a-hole to me.

Wasn't there; just trying to clarify the narrative which according to some goes like this: the cop was being a potty mouth - excessively so. The other fan with the family asked him to stop and it escalated from there. Again, IDK if that's accurate but I think that's one of the narratives.
