Kinda like those Les Miles games where coaching sucked the life out of the team and took the fun out of the game. And the fans are just powerless with a false hope that somehow next week will be better.

The way the defense played?

I don’t get that feeling at all to be honest. I’m not impressed with how we played but at least they get the winning feeling and they still have a ton to work on.

Greater improvement is from Game 1 to Game 2 …
Think about that one.

I’m going to play devil’s advocate:

I think the team did show some improvement this week, specifically on the defensive side of the ball. It still needs work, but it for better. On the offensive side, missed protections and dropped passes are still an issue. Also, Max needs to calm the frick down. He’s rushing to many passes, not setting his feet, resulting in shot hops.

While it appeared that way, Mcneese was virtually incapable of throwing the football. Every other team we face this year will he capable of throwing, and most will throw VERY well. I’m not optimistic with how our defense will hold up when the field can be stretched with great athletes all over the field.

My confidence that we beat Central Michigan has wavered a bit. My confidence in O is completely gone. I feel a little better about the defense, but McNeese was very bad on offense so it’s hard to really gauge how much improvement was made at the second level when O’s kid was on his back 90% of the game. I think we’ll get a better idea about the improvement made next week.

In 2010 we beat McNeese 32-16 to go 7-0 and finished 11-2
