He still posts a decent amount of pictures from games last season plus looks like he deleted photos from his Florida visit on Instagram. How do you guys feel if he ends up coming back on the team? Obviously the added depth would be great.

Its kind of hard to want a player that's not committed to the program regardless of his talent level.

If he puts on the uniform, I’ll cheer for him to do well.

i would like to have him back, and would enjoy his contribution to the team, but would have a very low tolerance for additional poor attitude.

I'm going to guess he's not invited back.

He's a very very good talent. However, he's missing camp...lots of it. If he wanted to play at LSU he's screwed because he's not practicing so he would never play. He's probably taking his time because he knows he has to sit out. He shouldn't have ever left, but kids these days...

If he is a good player and can help the team, then I wouldn't feel any personal animosity. But I'm not important, it's what his teammates and coach's would feel. For whatever reason (which is none of my business) he decided to quit on his team. Should he return and play a prominent role, I could see it having a negative effect on the team and program as a whole. It would be sending a message that you could quit, avoid the hardships of camp, then step right in as if nothing (or relatively little) happened. Do you want to set that precedent as a coach/program?

Sure... We need the depth. We are one CB injury away from being in a bad situation if Kary, Fulton, or Stingley goes down.

I think he’s flaky and immature, but don’t have any hard feelings. If the program allows him back I’ll root for him.

To me it’s more how the players feel. If they have no problem with it I’m good.

Maybe. Let’s see what this crop of freshmen (other than Stingley) can do before we start sounding the alarm.

I most definitely agree. The only way I see it happening is if the coaching staff tells him he is he essentially coming back as a freshman and has to battle his way back up the depth chart.

I'm guessing some kind of suspension must be part of all this.
To be in the portal and not have a place to go right now is not a smart move on his part.
He probably doesn't have a waiver and would have to sit a year. Not to mention you have to find a team willing to risk a schollie on you.
At this point his best option might be to return to LSU while he can still get up to speed with remaining fall camp.

I have a feeling that jay11 (2 posts) knows something. Maybe Derek instructed him to send out some feelers on the Rant. After all, the power of the Rant's influence is unmistakable.

I think that would set a bad precedent with the rest of the team. This kid has shown a lack of respect or dedication to the program on several occasions and has done nothing but make a scene and bring attention to himself. Yes he’s talented but if you bend and welcome him back it shows the younger kids that they can get away with things. Better to cut bait and go with the freshmen who are very talented in their own right.
