How the hell are people putting Matt Flynn on here? Dude was extremely mediocre while at LSU.

Thank you. JJ in 09 had a higher qb rating than Flynn in 07.

No Marcus Randle love?

I actually really liked Randle as a member of the team, not just the QB. He was one of those guys you really wanted to succeed even though you knew he would struggle. I was really glad he played well in his last game against Arkansas.

As far as favorites:

1. Russell
2. Hodson
3. Davey
4. Flynn

What does that have to do with who someone's favorite is?

And won exactly what in 09? Some of the wins were even fairly pathetic (UGA comes to mind) not to mention OM debacle!

you need to move beyond posting this irrelevant point in every thread where Flynn's name shows up...

The two best, going back to 1959, were 1st) Bert Jones, and then 2nd) Jamarcus Russell. Ryan Perrilloux is right there with them in ability, but not one of my favorites. All three of these quarterbacks were devastatingly effective in the clutch. LSU seemed always in the game when these three played.

I always catch shite for this, but Mauck was the worst starter on that 2003 team.

His sole responsibility was to not lose the game and he desperately tried to on several occasions.

His 28 tds to set an LSU record disagree with you.

It's not irrelevant. Flynn was avg as a qb at LSU. Someone laughed because JJ wAs mentioned.

Mauck feasted on shite team. The 4 ranked teams he played against he threw 12 int and only 4 Tds.

You want to breakdown every qb in LSU history and see how they stacked up vs only ranked opponents? Most qbs are able to rack up stats against lesser teams. Dude was still a great qb and leader.

Davey was probably the most likeable QB that I can remember. The dude played through injuries and won big games before we became the top 5 team year in and year out

JJ's rating in 09 compared to Flynn's in 07 is irrelevant. Flynn could make more throws, ran the offense better and was better in the clutch. Doesn't mean he was great or didn't make mistakes or should have started over Russell...

Was it flynn's 3 ints vs Bama. Or his int to end the ark game or his abysmal Kentucky game that made him clutch?
