Would you prefer he just never try to rush the QB? I'm not sure what you're supposed to tell a kid if this is a penalty. We don't live in a cartoon world where you can stop on a dime.

If he'd been intentionally targeting and launched for the qb, Fitz would not have been able to return. Probably wouldn't have gotten off the field on his own.

Call roughing the passer, but targeting on that play was total bullshite. Refs were in full flag mode by that point though, and just got too excited.

You tell him to use his hands instead of lowering his head for a head butt. You tell him if he does head butt his azz will get kicked out of the game.

After watching Foster dive head first into Etling last year while Etling was sliding feet first with no call, I just laugh at all this "targeting" crap.

Glad I turned the game off after the second TD was called back and didn't see any of this garbage.

You know, I saw tons of times where our guys were just simply blocked all the way out of bounds. At least 4-5 different occasions. More than 5 yards from the LOS, and forcing a player OOB. Bull shite that never got called.

if he was going to get ejected for it, I wish he would've gotten his money's worth on the hit.

Here's the thing
Farrell is OVER 300lbs, and going FULL SPEED TO THE QB....

IF he wanted to TARGET, he could have DESTROYED THE QB on the Path he was at....

If you watch the replay during/after contact he is going to the side....

Now let's think about this, you are asking a 300+ pound guy to STOP on a dime or SLOW down on his way to the QB... YOu SIMPLY CANNOT DO THIS....

There will always be contact, and the QB HAS ALREADY ESTABLISHED HIMSELF AS PART OF THE RUNNING GAME....

Talking about Farrell here, not Donnie.
He didn't lower his head, and he actually used his hands first, and did everything he could to not touch the QB. The contact was minimal and in no way "targeting". It was a terrible call. you want to call a personal foul on it, fine, but not targeting and an ejection when a guy was literally trying to get out of the way and not make contact.
Donnie deserved his ejection, not for hitting him late, but for lower his helmet and making contact with the head, like an idiot.

A lot of refs do not have the balls to go against the PC culture .
I saw him falling forward, at which time, the QB's back was still to him, then the QB swiveled .
Personal foul OK, Targeting ..a stretch...but the refs are covering their A --- es.

I just want to know that if this means we will even get a flag thrown this year when Alabama eventually launches themselves at our QBs head once again

Her lowered his head for the head butt. Good call. The only way to stop this is to call it. Repeat offenders should be suspended for multiple games.

I have been working so missed the game. Does anyone have a link to these incidents? Thanks

Agree. The way I saw it, Farrell was moving forward, did not lower his head; the QB was moving toward him ... not sure what Farrell could've done any differently. Their facemasks collided -- did not see Farrell intentionally lower the crown of his helmet. Overall, the officiating was horrible -- that offensive PI call to take away a TD really hurt, and no doubt affected LSU momentum, but, good teams find ways to overcome bad calls, and LSU did not.

Being a NCIS investigator I would have to say it was the constant ringing cowbells that bombarded the refs ears and they suffered "cow shite" syndrome.....

Kinda' like what Cuba has been doing to our diplomats at the U.S. Embassy with untrasound waves
