That's culture instilled from head coach, not a function of the S&C coach. Blaming Moffitt is like blaming the cooks for your food being cold when it's the server being lazy and slow.
Exactly this right here. Nobody questions the S&C program when times are good. In 2019, our o-line won the Moore award. Are we to believe that over the course of Tommy Moffitt's stellar career, he has catastrophically degraded in 1.5 seasons?
On a discrete level, much of football is leverage and discipline. It doesn't matter how many of our athletes can squat and deadlift 600 lbs if they are out of position because of effort and scheme.

Without a doubt he’s lost his effectiveness for one reason or another

Sorry but S&C doesn’t require someone to reinvent the wheel

If he leaves, watch how fast Saban snatches him up...

Bring in Scott Cochran
Cochran isn't an S&C coach anymore. He left Bama to be the special teams coordinator at UGA. I'm not sure if he's back now, but he took a leave of absence for personal reasons. It's been speculated that he has a substance abuse problem.

No he hasn't. You don’t know shite about how the players actually train during and off season. The preparation now is no different than in 2019. What is different is the coaching staff calling x's and o's. The ignorance on this board never fails. Most of you have the emotional stability of a 13 yearl girl. LSU loses and it's fire everyone, regardless of merit.

this has been going on for much much longer than 1.5 seasons

Break this down for me, coach.

Moffitt has been here when Saban was, anytime there’s been a lack of desired play by the athletes, regardless if it was Saban, Miles, or Coach O, the posters will throw him under the bus

It wasn’t noticeable until 2010/2011
But I been here since 2003

Not S&C. Practice soft play soft.

Agreed Moffit’s time is up, both lines have been soft and being pushed around not just this year but have been for the past four years.

The strength coach was here through three NCs. Was it Moffit that changed the practice mentality?
The LSU identity change to soft is fairly evident if one follows coaching change time line.

The practices are too short and not enough hitting. When O took over he shortened practice and hitting in practice, it was mid season so it paid immediate dividends. Apparently he fell in love with this concept but they don't hit enough in pre season and practices are too short for them to get in football shape. Hence all the in season cramps and injuries.
Las ran very physical practices but should have cut them back as season wore on, by he didn't. O seems to have fallen in love with Marucvi and all his new technology, it doesn't replace conditioning. Moffit's conditioning methods still work, the coach has to allow it.

2003, 2007, 2011, and 2019. Is that good enough?

I don’t know, is it Moffitt, or is some of it O’s philosophy on practices? Seems like that was part of the dialogue after Miles was fired. I don’t remember S&C being a weakness before Orgeron.

I disagree. Every team is having injury problems and it's not from bad fitness.
