LSU does have a huge amount of talent on the field. But most of that talent is very young.

The secondary is very young. 5 guys play great coverage on any given play, and one guy is in the wrong place. They are all extremely talented and have a great amount of potential, but they are VERY YOUNG.

The QB's will grow. They will grow during the spring when they can focus on the little things that go into making a good qb and not worrying about game plans and weely game preparations. They are both talented, and will benefit greatly from the competition with RS coming in.

I guess my point is this. While LSU is very talented ,talent isn't everything. Last year LSU got every bounce. This year they haven't gotten many. That's just the way it is I guess, but I'll gladly take 1 NC and one average season over 2 pretty good seasons any time.

Everyone needs to calm down and ride the storm. Despite popular belief, jumping up and down, booing, and demanding the coaches jobs aren't going to do anything really. The SEC got LSU this year and good for them, because the story won't be quite the same next year when we return some talented players with a little seasoning.

Mauck was running QB who would not be the next year. I was scared to death of that guy going in to 2003.
Why? Mauck proved to be very capable after he led the team to a 5-1 record before getting injured in the Florida game (why he was still in the game when we were well ahead is a head scratcher).

I agree that "jumping up and down and booing" will not accomplish much. However, adding a DC and a QB coach, along with making other coaching adjustments, could accomplish a lot.

Alabama is playing 16 true freshmen this year, with only 9 scholarshiped seniors.

Thank you. I am tired of LSU making excuses, calling this year's Tigers a "young" team. Guess what - young players can learn and improve in the crucible of this thing called a football season. First off, our team is not young - not with 19 seniors on the roster. We fans are not wrong to expect leadership and motivation to win from them. Oh, and maybe some football excellence? And second, where we are young or inexperienced, it is not unheard of to see freshmen and red shirt freshmen actually contribute to the total team effort. I recall a couple of true freshmen running backs on this year's UF team cutting through LSU's veteran defenses like a hot knife through butter. And while he is now at a near-divine status, freshman Tim Tebow had a pretty hot hand as QB a couple of years ago versus LSU.

"Young team" is just an excuse for "I dunno why we can't play." It rests in coaching. Leadership. Fundamentals. Execution. Character. Motivation. Focus. Excellence. Winning attitudes. All rests with coaching. LSU has been short-changed this season in that department.

No. We get to keep our players just as long as other teams do. Every team has to replace players at key positions. UF and UGa was young in their OL. OM had a 1st yr starter at QB and was young at their corners. The youth argument is hollow. We just completed week #11 and this team is fragmenting.

Ten games into the season, the players aren't that young anymore...

Not matter who is really to blame, final blame rest with the coaches.
