I think he’s going to be a high leverage reliever, not a starter, but they definitely like his potential

Agreed. He has primarily been used in the middle of scrimmages and I believe has gone 2 innings nearly every time he has pitched.

Grant Fontenot has been used strictly as a reliever this fall. Devin Fontenot has been a starter, only.

Fontenot has been a good name in LSU sports hidtory.

Herman - football receiver
Mike - infielder
Devin - pitcher
Grant - pitcher

I probably missed another one or two from way back.

Was it Priester that caught DiGiacomo and Stevenson stealing? How’s catching battle playing out defensively?

Milazzo threw Pearson out, Wyeth threw Gio out. I didn’t see who caught Stevenson.

Milazzo is still the obvious defensive choice. McManus is still the obvious offensive choice, and has looked serviceable when he’s caught. Priester can hit but struggles defensively. Wyeth is just average, below average in all areas. All of them have good arms.

Hopefully Kelly is coaching the pitchers to control the running game. The catcher is obviously important but the pitcher is also important.

Baseball has got to have the longest pre-season in sports.

College baseball players play and or workout year round. If not for ncaa restrictions, they would practice with their coaches or play year round, IMO. Teams scrimmage about 45 days in fall and 15 days in spring.
