Hello I posted this on the ticket exchange, but am thinking I will get more opinons here. I am looking to sell a block of 4 football season tickets and I want to know if most people include the tradition fund price in the ticket price. It is about $800 a ticket($3,200 per all 4)

Is this commmon?

A friend of mine was out of the country last season. I agreed to buy his season tix and sell them per game to my friends (season sucked and I got hosed, by the way). But the deal was I paid ticket price only for the season, but I would agree to pay the seat fees too if he transfered them into my name. He chose to eat the fees and get his tix back this year.

Don't you lose the seats if you transfer the name? I would never do this, these seats have been in my family a long, long time.

I didnt think you could do this.. I wasnt aware that season tickets were owned by a person but rather LSU's to give out.

Mine are 35 yard line, east side, 30 rows up, chair back. When I do the math it comes out to about $114 per ticket, per game just for the surcharge or $162.00 per ticket, per game all in. I want to know if it is common for people to tack on the tradition fund or not. Seems to me like you would?

chairbacks are the kicker that is making it much more. what are you trying to do, get someone to transfer their tickets to you?

The market is the market. If youcan recoup your investment, I see no reason not to go for it. A sophisticated buyer will, of course, point out that the Tradition Fund payment is tax deductible to you, so that your true cost is probably only 60 or 70% of that amount, while he will not be able to deduct what he pays you. I also pay an $800/ticket TF "donation" and if I were inclined to sell all 14 of my tickets (7 games x 2 tickets)I would try to recoup as much of the $1600 as I could persuade someone to pay me. It isn't as if by paying me that much they are funding my season ticket rights into the future. I have to pony up the $1600 (or whatever) again year after year.

nevermind. I see what you want. I have 4 seats, they always stay in my name i sell of the price of the ticket and the price for the tradition fund. so yes i would add that in to the full price of the seat. I get to keep the tax write off for all four seats which is pretty cool. I always sell them to the same friend so it is kind of like both our tickets now.

I am confused.. you are wondering if you should charge less than what you paid for the tickets.. The tradition fund is part of your ticket price, so charge it... and whoever you sell them to will just flip them for twice that.. seats in that section were going for over 2k per seat last year.. maybe down this year but I suspect minimum 1500 per seat will be the price for 4 together, pairs are much easier to find
