Totally agree. We're not an elite program and haven't been in several years. Some fans are just clueless and refuse to face reality. We could go 1-11 and that lone win is against Southern and some fans would try to act like it was greatest win in college football history!

Ha! So the Big Ten is the dominate conference now?
"Dominate" is a verb.

"Dominant" is the adjective term you are looking for.

English lesson over. Carry on...

Outside of the Saban and Arnsparger years it’s been a joke.
Had there been a 12x cfp since 2000 LSU would've been a fairly regular participant.

Oh boy, another stupid chicken little thread.

All we have to do is hire the right coach. Alabama didn’t do shite on the national championship scene for 17 years from 1992 until 2009.
Their program was dead until it wasn’t as soon as Nick Saban arrived.

Yep a little consistency of at least contending or making the playoffs would be great. It’s great winning National titles, but every time LSU does it seems like we have to endure 4-5 years of average football or more afterwords until they finally get a championship caliber team again. Mainly because LSU always seems to lose half of their team and coaching staff when they win a title. Hard to stay consistent when your program gets annihilated with departures after every title.

But there wasn’t and the landscape always coincides with post season structure so imposing one eras scenarios on another is faulty logic.

LSU should have more than one playoff appearance if it thinks it’s elite.

Yes.

In two weeks IU will have more playoff appearances than LSU.

Odd comparison, seeing as how IU would have to play about 3 seasons worth of football to meet the same number of ranked teams that LSU does in 1.
