There is SEC fatigue and this matchup wont help lessen it. But you guys, Okla St, OU, stanford... should not have lost. Only hope now is Okie St.

Then you say... quote: The country will never know however if Vir Tech, Stanford, or Okie State is better then Bama.

Did Stanford win their division? What time is the Pac12 championship game they are playing?

You pulled my words out of context. I was using Stanford as a example of a team that we may not know in theory if Bama is better then them. (in theory...) but I was never using Stanford as a example of a team that should have the right to play LSU.... as they did not win their Conference. Thus, two complete different issues.

If you ask me, Okie State if they beat Okie(thus winning their Conference) or Vir Tech, if they win their Conference, or heck, Wisky, if they win theirs,,, as they are all Conference winners should get to challenge LSU. As for my Ducks, we already had a chance with you. I am not advocating us getting another...

But I will go with Okie St or Vir Tech deserve a shot at you...

I feel bad for LSU fans having this great year and title game and the whole country will not tune in to watch it.

Bull. It will be record ratings. Do many want a different matchup to see more points and give another team a shot? Yes. Will more people be aware of this game because it is a rematch that has been talked about for months? Yes.

Awareness = higher ratings for big football games, not high powered offense or conference diversity within it.

P.S. If you wouldn't have lost to USC, would you be thinking that a rematch with Oregon would be OK? And the difference would be . . . ?

Pretty unfair to judge him for a decision that is out of his control. If he comes out against a rematch it will just be perceived as fear. What he has said is that we will play whoever they put in front of them.

You seriously suggested 2 loss Wisconsin? That lost to coachless Ohio State? That has ZERO signature wins?

Your opinion is losing value. I don't think it's fair that LSU should face Alabama in New Orleans, but you are clearly a homer trying to make a case for teams that are in a situation similar to the one your own team is in; just don't forget that we already kicked your arse.

bama is de facto NOT the best team in the country, they should be eliminated from the discussion. 9-6 at home. next. many are going to regret the day when we are subjected to year after year of USC vs. whoever is lucky enough to play them ... wait for Neb/OK/Mich/tOSU to come roaring back and see where our 1 loss SEC champ sits in the pecking order ... perhaps behind a team USC already beat. rematch is a bad precedent to set.

Well said. Man it took long enough for a guy with brains to come out of the closet...

I'm not completely disagreeing with the general point of your post, but your wording makes me disregard your stance. The general message of the rest of the country would be peeved about an SEC SEC BCS game and might not garner huge viewership has been a question in my mind. However the tone with which you word it makes you sound bitter and childish. As someone who writes a blog you should know better.
Furthermore

quote:

Recently Les Miles has changed tunes and become a hypocrite in saying he would welcome facing Bama again for the title in a rematch. He has lost a lot of respect from many who remember him saying that maxim but now being a hypocrite...

You need to step the frick off with this. Les Miles has more class in his foreskin than most of the remaining CFB coaches, Chip Kelly included. What do you expect him to say? He said he would be honored to play whomever is matched against us. Go find some maturity if you cannot grasp that he can't say much else in that situation. If you are going to call our coach a hypocrite, go do it on your blog where we don't visit.
If you think Les is anything less than class, GFY.

Many on this board are against the rematch with Bama. But the means you used to arrive at that conclusion seriously suck.

If Les says he doesn't want bama again then he is scared. If he says he does hes a hypocrite. Yall really need to give up the asinine reasons to hate the man. Its called coach speak and every coach in the country uses it.

Then it is called Lying and Deceiving and that is unacceptable with whoever it is. Personally I like Miles very much however on this point I am very disappointed in him that he is not consistent...

I wonder if Phil Knight will boycott the merchandising revenue an LSU vs BAMA rematch would create for Nike?

This. I've had this thought since the beginning of this whole stupid debate. LSU played Bama and beat them. FACT. The Debate of who was better was settled on the field. To arbitrarily decide that Bama is entitled to a rematch based on wins over Arky and Penn State, and a close loss to LSU, seems like a slap in the face to the rest of college football. It's almost like they are being rewarded for managing to keep the game close, while still losing. Bama was given the opportunity to prove that it was Number 1 in it's own stadium and failed. To exclude the rest of the field from contention and the opportunity to play for the NC on the field seems, well, wrong.

Seriously, you're grasping at straws to criticize Coach Miles. He said he'd welcome a rematch, but he HAS NO SAY IN THE MATTER. It isn't up to him. The BCS will work itself out and the Tigers will play whoever they are matched with.
