And yes, Musberger has a real problem with a Bama rematch

that's because he has been a Big-10 v PAC-10 fluffer his entire career.

the idea behind the BCS is to get the best 2 teams on the field.

I hate to tell you, but OSU and VA Tech simply aren't as good as Bama.

Not even close. LSU would destroy OSU or Va Tech in NOLA. Only Bama provides a true test.

Have no idea and don't give a shite. Doesn't take away from his argument. Most of the country doesn't give a shite about watching a rematch. I predict one of the lowest tv ratings in BCS history if it's LSU vs. ' Bama.

Good for you, hot shot.

If you don't like the match up, don't watch it---I'm sure the ratings will be fine without you.

Agree with most of what OP said except the Miles hypocrite part. The country doesn't want to see an all SEC NC game.

You honestly expect him to do that? You honestly think him disrespecting Alabama and giving them bulletin board material and making things tougher on his own team is the classy thing? You need to learn what the frick class is.

You know what.... I just thought about what you said, and you are right. I did not see it this way. Miles was saying he would accept a rematch with Bama just out of class. So I now agree with your point. He was just trying to be classy(in accepting whoever).

However there is two sides to this coin. I am right also. Why is because in 2007 he pushed and pushed and pushed the media, working them to death on his Maxim that he declared...."that if a team cannot even win their Conference they are not worthy of a Title game." And well, if that Maxim was indeed true, as he claimed it was during 2007, then why is he NOT DEFENDING HIS OWN MAXIM? If it was true and all.... Thus, it may not be that he his lying......but rather his silence... his silence for allowing people to hype up and want to match up that which in theory he fought so hard against.

And then when you look at it this way, you either have to decide if he is a classic hypocrite or note. I suggest he is,,,,,,by his silence. As now when people ask him about it, he just shrugs his shoulders and pretends to forget that which he hyped up so much in 2007.

Thus I can see on one level him showing class by saying they will play whoever and welcomes whoever and has no worries about whoever. However if it is a moral issue, as was his claim in 2007 and it is morally wrong(or highly not right, as was his 2007 claim) then why doesn't he also be vocal in the present as he was in 2007?

I will tell you why.... It is because it was a made up Maxim and he does not really believe it. That is why he does not still fight for it. He was only trying to help LSU at the time, and made up some bullshite, a Maxim he does not believe in, to help his team at the time.

So yes, I can very well point out his inconsistency on this issue. And I am right.

What fans WANT doesn't and should NOT matter. Computer polls and reg polls say who plays. Nothing else matters. LSU will be waiting on whoever is VOTED #2 and the FANS have no say, as it should be.So GFY.

Good. In that case, I do agree that Bama shouldn't get another try to be named the best team in the nation, as they already lost, and if they DO get to try again, ratings will suffer because we've already seen this game before.

It's just up to the BCS to sort it out.

The last game was billed as the 'game of the century'----this may be the 'game of all time".

No one will want to miss this game. The promotions will be run for weeks. Players' interviews, coaches' interviews, highlights of LSU and Bama, the missed field goals, the winning field goal, the crying Bama frat guy being consoled by his girlfriend, the elation of LSU fans, the mystical atmosphere of New Orleans, and many other promotions will be played during every post season football game by CBS and ESPN.

People will watch even if they do not agree with the two teams.

The SEC doesn't give a shite. You are irrelevant to us. The SEC championship game is really the national championship game every year. You should know that by now. Start playing better football than we do in the south and maybe we will give a shite one day. By the way, how was your trip to Dallas this year?

First of all

Now on to the rest of your post..

quote:

then why is HE NOT DEFENDING HIS OWN MAXIM?

He fought for his team (and won mind you). Why should he have to fight for someone elses? Its not his job to get anyone elses team into the NC. Its his job to get LSU into the national championship and he did his job. If your coach would've done his we wouldn't be having this discussion
