My grandson goes there and I’m not sure if it’s north or south. I know it’s close to Myrtle Beach

The player's answer was "nothing good" not " I don't know anything about them". I would doubt seriously one of the star players is getting ready to play the most important baseball game in his life and knows zero about their opponent. If that is the case, the coach is an idiot. I guarantee Jay has prepped his team on them.

Don't be a dumb-arse. I know you are admin, but your take on this shows you shouldn't be.

I can’t wait for Chris Guillot to tell me how I should cheer at the game on Saturday. Wonder if he’s thinking about a victory lap for Coastal Carolina if they win?

The question was “as student-athletes and fans of baseball, what do you like about the Tigers” and he responded with “not a whole lot”. If you find that offensive or disrespectful I’m not really sure what to tell you besides get some thicker skin.

What do you admire? Which means respect NOT "like".

Dumb response to a middle of the road question. LSU has been to Omaha 20 times in 40 years which speaks for itself as to the quality of the program and most recently won a title in 2023.

If you can’t respect or admire that, then you are ignorant of the sport in which you participate. In reality, it was probably an immature dude trying to be edgy.

I didn't find it offensive, but the answer seemed cocky. "Not a whole lot to like" is akin to what I said and I was paraphrasing. Maybe the guy just has empty thoughts and really had no idea what to say.

Why? Would you want to hear LSU players saying positive things about CC?

Why not? You can say they have good hitters and the winning steak is impressive.

When asked what they admire or like about Coastal Carolina, I hope they say, "Nothing."

Legitimate question, if he doesn’t know anything about LSU’s team or school what is he supposed to say when asked about what he likes or admires about them? What if he legitimately has no feelings towards LSU at all, expect for the fact that he wants to beat them in 2 out of the next 3 games?
Dude, he’s a college baseball player, he knows plenty about LSU baseball. We’re arguably the best college baseball program in the nation over the past two and a half decades.

All they had to say was, “They’re a great program and we look forward to playing them for the championship.”

Not, “Not a whole lot.” So there’s not much to like about a program that has 7 champions in the modern era of baseball? Can’t be even a little complimentary?

It was fricking disrespectful.

Yes.

I want our players to respect their opponents. Especially the very good ones. Taking your opponent lightly is a great way to get your arse kicked.

Disrespecting your opponents only makes you look like a dick and fuels the other team. It’s classless.

They would be respectful because that's how his players are. Tennessee's players are a bunch of douchebags and that speak to their coach. No difference here.

I’m probably in the minority, but I took it as a compliment. I think he was looking at it from their perspective. There is not a whole lot to like about a team you are about to play that hits well, fields well, pitches with power and hits with power.
