Pat Forde pointed out how empty the stands were at the end of the game Saturday, and called LSU fans "the quickest to get off a sinking ship." On Moscona's show today he pointed out that LSU fans have become spoiled, and that Tiger Stadium and the fans have lost their edge. The stadium is great for a big-game atmosphere when LSU is good, but otherwise it's not what it once was.
The fans stayed at that game till it was clear we weren't going to win. Than there was a mass exodus. But do you really think people are going to stick around when it is 34-16 and MSU is moving the ball at will?
overreaction on their part.

A lot of fans are hanging on by a thread with Miles. Their patience is worn thin with him. I think that is what drives people to want to "beat the traffic".

like i told my dad, for most, it is a fuking social event. They could care less if LSU wins or losses. they sit on their asses and bs instead of on their feet and yelling. Of course the price of winning is increased ticket prices and drives a lot of people out of the market. I miss the 80's crowd.

quote:Ahem... I beg to differ. LSU fans know good football when they see it. LSU fans also know bad football when they see it. We're getting wins, but not good football. We're getting home games, but not good opponents (SHSU, etc.). LSU fans have not lost their edge; LSU as a football program has lost its way. And its sense of true identity. We have always prided ourselves in not being just like all those other teams out there. But Joe Alleva maybe never got that memo, because he seems determined to change the culture of LSU football. Canned music. The Wave. Sky-high prices. And Les Miles is in a B1G time warp, thinking if he can't go to Michigan, he'll bring Bo's Michigan to us. It stinks, but until TAF and others in power wake up, the only thing fans wanting good LSU football can do is go home when it gets unbearable, or stay home and watch LSU day games on TV.

Now I think tiger stadium isn't the same as what it use to be, but when that game was close, that stadium was rocking.
MSU did what they had to do to beat us. Get out on us early and take the crowd out of it. When they went up 14-0 the crowd wasn't going to be that excited.

I'd love to see Miles do the same but it ain't gonna happen.
It could be one of the greatest Milesisms of our time.
"A certain quantity of our fans appear to lack the chest required to bring the passion we need in the stands. I want to see damn strong fans in the seats for a full 60 minutes supporting our damn strong football team. That is all."

Les Miles lost this fan base after 1/9. He doesn't deserve anyone's support until his wins another national title.
Pardon?
I always have and will root for LSU.
Coaches come and go.
If a portion of the fanbase wants to pack it in because LSU didn't finish undefeated in one of the best seasons in it's history, don't let the door hit hit you in your collective pompous asses.

Im more worried about or juniors jumping off the team before they are seniors. Might as well do away with senior day. NO MORE REDSHIRTS,do away with the practice. Its caught up with LSU now. I wish thier was a rule you had to sit out a year if you wanted to bolt. I know, money, money , money. Being able to buy players an insurance policy would be an idea. We have the most players in the NFL , I know, but this is ridiculous , do they ever think ONE more year might double what they sign for?Career ending injuries are rare now.Its got to stop along with holes in the fence that seems to have popped up. Bama loses players too, but not like the Tigers. At least they can look at it this way ,LSU is the quickest way to the NFL and puts the most players there, they just come from our Jr. class.

I'm no fan of Alleva but blaming him for the Wave is hysterical.

It's no secret and doubters are living in the past.
Tiger stadium has no "aura" anymore

quote:That's true for season tickets. You can still go to all of the games and pick up tickets outside the stadium for much cheaper than face value. No need for season tickets any longer unless you want that comfort of knowing that you'll definitely have a seat for the Alabama game every other year or one of the other "Lesser" SEC games that makes it through the TV selection process and remains at night.
Of course the price of winning is increased ticket prices and drives a lot of people out of the market.

This thread gave me a headache.
Expecting fans to stay in their seats and watch this team get absolutely dismantled by a team they should beat is ridiculous. People need to get over themselves. Bitching on here has accomplished absolutely nothing the past few years you tards have been doing it and will continue to do exactly that. Quit beating a rotting horse carcass and get over it already.

You don't even understand the argument if that is your comment.

Some come, bringing nothing with them but the wallet to carry their big check home in. I believe I specifically mentioned SHSU in this regard. Sorry you didn't catch the nuance.

Ticket prices and inability to get tickets has cashed out many of the better fans from going I've also said this for awhile that lsu fans are the most spoiled fans in the country. I love lsu and many of the fans aggravate me with the constant complaining they did it with nick they do it with les they do with Paul and they will do it with the next coaches at lsu

People will even turn the TV off if the game is boring. Miles style is predictable and boring. Good theater sells tickets. Fans will not stay to watch a hum drum style of play.
