Miles really underestimated the angst he has caused. Within the team and the fanbase.

We won 13 straight games, all by double digits (except the first Bama game) because of the way we ran the ball.
Alabama didn't just slow down our running game, they absolutely shut it down . bama shut down the run game because they had no fear of JJ throwing it.

Simply put, Miles put JJ in a bad spot with the play calling. J Lee might have opened things up a little and THAT would have helped the running game.

on target 100%

anyone other than LM, whether in the stadium or at a bar, could see that Saban's decision was to not lose the game because of JJs running..end of story.
as the game went on, Miles re-assured Saban of his correct decision by not even entertaining playing a QB w/ a threat of passing....so Saban dismissed the pass even more and JJ got his D--- put in the dirt.

can you get me in on the meeting where they voted, and let me know how you got in ?

.....they portrayed the UNITED front, but were anything but united.
BTW, if someone had told me that they voted JL the team captain UNANIMOUSLY, I'd be saying the same.

This should not have translated to not allowing someone else the chance to do something, anything other than what was done.

So it was a no brainer Defense Saban ran, but because Miles had a hugh brain fart, LSU lost the game......right on....

One of the best retorts I've read.
Why didn't I think of it?

Some people walk right into things don't they?

8 pages over an interview that apparently didn't reveal much, which was to be expected. Man, you guys are suckers for local media and make believe soap operas.

The statement was made that LM caused the team problems by his decision for JJ. All I'm saying is the team also made that decision. They backed him fully. He was their guy. That team rose and fell together and we should also. But of course some people on here are too weak to face adversity without crying like a girl cause their celebration got ruined.

maybe before the game, but are you so naive that you believe that the players could not see what was going on ?
do you really believe that had the "vote" been taken in the 3rd qtr, they would have backed JJ fully ? Hell, even JJ expressed doubt in his interview.

You're assuming I'm a JJ fan. I'm an LSU fan. I cheered for whoever was playing. I'll leave the picking sides and juvenile put downs to you guys. I was making a statement about recognizing character. You can apply however you see fit but don't mistakenly think my thoughts are based on an argument for one or the other qbs.

I'm just an observer so I don't face any adversity but as a college football fan I can't recall a QB situation handled so poorly. I think that's why there is a lot of fascination with what went on. It's not just from LSU fans.

So 13-1 is the definition of poorly? Cause he's hired to win games not make people happy with his decisions.

The immortalizing of Nick Saban in these threads are hilarious to me, day in and day out. Cracks me up.

I know there are Alabama circle jerks on the SECr, but there are just as many by LSU fans in threads every day on this one. It's funny because its pathetic.

Certainly not. That's also been an unfortunate result of the NC game that the SEC title has been briefly overlooked. Those aren't handed out and in time even though the NC disappointment will still sting, hopefully the otherwise remarkable season will be celebrated.

Look,I'm one of the biggest fans Miles has on this forum. But after leading LSU to #1 for the Alabama game, I am still just stunned how Miles just quit on Lee after the Alabama game in Tuscaloosa.Yes,Lee played poorly in that game--no if, ands, and buts about it.But Jefferson, while playing reasonably well, didn't make anyone think he was RGIII,either.

I'm still just mystified as to what Miles saw in JJ. Its not JJ's fault nor is my utter confusion at Miles' continuing to play him exclusively a shot at JJ. Miles' is the coach, not Jefferson.

The seeds were sewn in the Georgia Dome that relying 100% on Jefferson was going to be big trouble vs Alabama. Actually, if you think about a few things of crabgrass popped up in the Arkansas game. Unitl TM7's punt return, LSU's offense didn't do diddle vs Arkansas.

Why Miles never played Lee and refused to tinker with or adjust the offense in the second Alabama game is still stunning.Surely he didn't think eventually we'd block a kick and run it back or pick McCarron off and run one back? Why we didn't go down with a fight on offense is just amazing. If you were in a bar fight getting just hammered, wouldn't you at least one time try to get off one good punch ?

That decision deserves questioning.

I think he means how the QB that was responsible for the majority of that 13-1 schedule and had the offense humming at the beginning of the year was just unceremoniously benched with no explanation and the starting job handed back to the guy that led the team to an over 100 ranked offense performance last year.
Maybe??

a person with a murder conviction goes thru life with it...even if he becomes mother Theresa later...
Miles record has nothing to do with and can not hide his incompetency on Jan 9th.
BTW, at $4MM a year, you are right HE IS PAID TO WIN..even NC games.

Just watched the entire interview on WAFB website.

I cannot fathom a parent not calling a head cash about the mistreatment of his son. I know this guy is a head coach but this is his son that is being disrespected by Les Miles and staff. My personal belief that it was the decision of Miles and mIles alone and was one of the sorriest examples of coaching I have ever seen. As a result, I have lost a lot of respect for Miles....to get that far and have a team so unprepared in inexcusable....period!

Then Miles will always be a failure in your eyes because he's going to lose games. Every decision is not going to work out. If perfection is the only option you're going to be very frustrated. I think I'll just enjoy the ride. Celebrate the many successes and endure the pitfalls. These are the BEST years in the history of the program and some people are so blinded by their personal agendas they're missing it.
