They have a fricken gold mine right under their nose and don't even know how to develop it. Can you image if you had the option to get reliable streaming to your smart phone in Tiger stadium for say $10 extra a game? Just do the numbers. It does not take a rocket science to see the revenue potential. They have to have somebody smart enough to drive it. It's why so many University Bookstores are no longer run by the University's anymore. It's mostly outsourced because they could not manage it profitably.

Maybe by simple math? Next year we only have 6 home games but most years we'll have 7 or 8.

6 home games w/ truck = $240
6 home games w/ trailer = $300
thanks for taking care of that...

I actually assumed about 7-8 home games which is what we've been averaging....next season the school is taking it easy on us

Simple math tells me that 240 + 300 = 540, not 700.

Whatever man. If you can afford tickets, a car to get to the stadium, gas, alcohol, and food, you damn sure can afford whatever small fee that they are gong to add to pay for parking out there.

They should probably have done this several years ago just to help pay for having to pick up all of the trash that gets left all over campus.

Does ROTC and those doing community service not pick up trash anymore? That use to be a way for LSU to save money, a friend of mine did community service by one Sunday picking up trash at LSU for 10 hours.

Simple as total bullshite. What about people who teach teachers? It never ceases to amaze me that the a service that everyone uses, is the one that gets the most crap.

OR they could add trashcans and get them out there earlier and that =/= $40/car and $50/trailer

How much do you think they pay the prisoners and service groups that do this? The answer is not very much.

Prove to me that my $40 is going to go to this. Currently every week we need to beg for gargage cans and have to wait to take a piss till the bathrooms open at 11am.

Even at 7 games a year, it's still not 700. At 7 games a year the average price would be 595.

+1

The whole reason this thread exists is b/c of budget cuts. Anytime the budget gets tight, education is the first to get cut. It should be the last. There is enough stupid people in this world, cutting education only makes more.

7 x 90 (trailer + car) = 630 and 8 x 90 = 720

i didnt do any math to say we usually have 7-8 home games and that's about 700 a year

$630 for a 7 home game year
$720 for an 8 home game year (BTW, this is what LSU would like to have year in and year out since it makes the most money dipshit. Next year is not a normal fricking season. )

My bad folks if my comment about paying to pick up trash is wrong. Here is the quote I read
"The revenue generated from the new charges will allow LSU to make more restroom facilities available to those areas and help with rising clean-up costs due to heavy tailgating activities in those areas"

Maybe they will put out more cans and maybe they can get more port-o-lets, etc.

Either way, I really think we have if very good as far as tailgating goes. Some schools have severally limited what can happen on campus and what time it can start. Other schools have even stopped it altogether.

They won't.

There's a reason why LSU is and has always been considered #1 in the entire country when it comes to tailgating. I'm not saying this is going to stop tailgaters all together but it will DEFINITELY take a hit.
