mine was great last year but this year it's awful. very jerky (altho the audio is fine) and can't really see the pitch or where the ball is hit. i'm about ready to go old school radio.

i cut cable 3 years ago and espn has been a struggle ever since. i started out with slingtv on pc. that was super awful. then we got an appletv 4. the espn app has been an inconsistent experience to say the least. typically, streaming a game through ps vue service was better than the espn app. now, we're on hulu live service and same thing. also, streaming on appletv 3, roku or mobile is better than the espn app on appletv 4. the espn app on apple tv 4 is just subpar. we have 50megs down with at&t uverse and all our other apps work fantastic so isp/speed isn't the issue.

btw, apple wrote the appletv 3 app (works great) whereas espn wrote the appletv 4 app (sucks).

Is average at best. Obviously better than not seeing the games we weren’t able to years ago. Freezes up all the time

I can only watch it on my living room TV or on my phone. Freezes every minute on my PC. Fricking annoying

I struggled a bit tonight with COX in BR

eta: had phone connected to tv through router, so not the best option. ordered a long Ethernet cable to hopefully avoid that next game

Thus far this year my LSU Baseball streaming experience has been: Chromecast > Fire Stick > Roku 2

Normally, my everyday device is the Roku 2 but for some reason when streaming LSU Baseball the Roku's ESPN app fails miserably. It's the same every year.

amateur

i got up in the attic to run cable in the summer of 2016 when the attic was 150 degrees so that my devices were hard wired. my wife had a timer running so that i would only spend 10 mins at a time up there. i came down with the top of my head stippled with blood because i kept hitting my head on the roofing nails.

now my life is great. i'm taller, better looking, more muscular and i have tons of wealthy, important friends. think rap video. NOT

but hardwiring everything did make a HUGE difference

For me, watching ESPN via PlayStation Vue has been perfect (but with a little loss in image quality) versus the Watch ESPN app. Watch ESPN has better picture but freezes way too often.

Baton Rouge bars need to wake the frick up and get with the times. There’s no excuse for not being able to stream a game in 2018 in every bar

I had one freeze last night. First one of the year.

No issues for me.

Watch ESPN app works great for me on firestick... clearing caches and force closing other apps during the games works wonders, even through a shitty Belkin router.

I find that the crispness and buffering ranking goes:

1) WatchESPN on AppleTV
2) WatchESPN on iPhone/iPAd
3) Listening on the radio
4) Reading the box score on LSUSports.net

5) Watching on my computer

6) Roku with WatchESPN

I too am frustrated with trying to watch the games on my laptop ( I have att/Direct tv at my home with ESPN app) The picture quality is good for the one minute it's not freezing up. Yet I can watch the game on my I-Phone with not one freeze up. Does anyone know whom we can contact to get this issue fixed?

well i spent hours on the phone between uverse, espn and apple. they each blamed the other. espn wrote the appletv 4 app, not apple, so i eliminated apple. i have much greater success watching on the phone over lte so uverse is on the hook for my home device. i told uverse it's ridiculous for me to play mediator between them and espn. they need to get on the phone with espn and figure out what the problem is because espn is blaming them. it's a totally ridiculous situation because ALL my other apps/streaming work super duper fantastically

so until it gets resolved, uverse is going to continue to hear my complaints first and hopefully they will finally work with espn directly to figure out what the heck the problem is. the last time they came out, they set up a new modem and changed the dns settings to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. it does seem to have helped.

still the lsu game paused several times last night but it wasn't bad. i was using multicast to watch 3 other games too but they didn't freeze which is weird.

if it interrupts a game significantly again, it'll get my dander up enough for me to make a very unpleasant call to uverse. i think they'll eventually pay me to switch to cox just to get rid of me.
