Went on an SECT heater in ‘24 when we needed it.

Heater started before that. We looked dead in the water at 3-12 in the SEC and 22-15 overall at the midway point of the conference schedule. We closed the season 11-5, winning a series against #1 Texas A&M, Missouri, and Auburn and swept Ole Miss

Maineiri's last season… Eugene, Oregon,

You left out the most remarkable part. We lost game one. I read once where game one losers in the four-team regional advance less than twenty percent of the time.

People forget Maineiri's last season, in 2021. An underperforming team all season actually won a regional on the road

That’s the worst pitching staff I’ve seen since Bertman got here. How we beat Oregon is a mystery.

I'm willing to accept a down season, just be competitive. But I think it will improve. Maybe win a regional.

Heres the trend w Jay at LSU

2022 - 40-22 17-13 in SEC - Regional

2023 - 54-17 19-10 in SEC - College World Series Champs!

2024 - 43-23 13-17 in SEC - Regional

2025 - 53-15 19-11 in SEC - College Word Series Champs!

2026 - currently 14-7 1-3 in SEC - TBD

Short history tells us even years are down years, followed by Champions in odd years. So I'm ok with this being a down year if we get another one in 2027.

Absolutely crazy how the 2022 record was better than the 2024 record. I guess you had guys like Crews/Morgan/Dugas carrying a lot of that, but that pitching staff was held together with duct tape, compared to the staff featuring Holman and Jump.
