If we get 1/2 of that on average we are in playoffs.

That's better stats than any QB, under Miles, has ever had at LSU.

will never throw 49 times here. Still that's accurate for 49 throws..

Against who?

Of course, LSU will never throw that many times in a game, but this at least is evidence that Etling is capable of putting up those kinds of numbers.

Even against cupcakes the past few years, LSU QB stat lines always seem to read something like 12-21-136-1-1

I just like to see a qb produce regardless of style. Tired of seeing dual threats that cant do either.

I tried to tell y'all.

People dismissed him because "Purdue" and such.

That Purdue team was HORRID. O-LINE was HORRID.

I watched some of those games because my wife and her family are Purdue grads.

But .. it was clear that Etling had a lot of potential.

Again ...so long as CLM does not sabotage this ... we are SET at QB ... and, it feels great!

240 passing yards a game? Would feel like the fun and gun around here. Matched with our running game would definitely have us in the playoffs. We dont need great QB play, we just need QB play that isnt terrible.

Its a given, we don't have to have a a GREAT QB, we just have to have one that is able to complete enough passes and be a threat to complete passes to keep the defense from stacking the line. BH does not fill that bill. Etling did enough to move them off the line. At least there is hope there.

Indiana. Lost 56-36 to end the 2013 season. (1-11 record )

After checking out his stats, seems he had some trouble keeping the ball out of the defense's hand.

The 485 yds was vs. Indiana who finished 5-7.

Purdue was shite that year (and still are). Behind early and had to pass ... no running game ... no O-line.

Aside from tOSU (who was and is pretty good) ... not terrible stats for a FROSH running for his life.
