This is what happens when you hire a potato as your head coach.

Football ticket sales account for more revenue than LSU's share of the TV rights. LSU brings in over $40 million in gameday revenue between tickets, parking and concessions. That $40M can easily become $30M or worse if the administration is willing to settle for 7 and 8 win seasons. So how does it make sense for the them to intentionally hire a cheap coach and save $2-3 million a year on that salary, when they'll lose 5x that amount of revenue when attendance falls off because the quality of the product doesn't justify the cost of attendance
I don't think Alleva or O care about LSU long term.
They're just going to milk this thing for as long as they can. It's like the mafia racket restaurant in Goodfellas. After you can't borrow another dime, you torch the place.

When I look at the schedule I see as few as three wins. Remember, we lost to Troy last year. We will be worse this year than last year.
I think complaining about Alleva and Captain Caveman is redundant and wasted energy at this point.
We need to face the fact that after this year, the program is a full rebuild, not 1999 level rebuild, but not too far therefrom.
This season has to happen for us to move forward...as painful as the process will be...
Fire Alleva if LSU has more than three losses through October. Throw the bank at Scott Woodward and get out of his way.
Hire the best available coach. Understand it’ll take a few years to rebuild what Miles and Jughead destroyed. By that time, maybe Saban retires and we prosper.

That's as ridiculous as saying that they will go undefeated. No way they lose 8.

Base case scenario is 7-5
Worst case scenario is 6-7
Even the most die hard LSU homers will agree with the above.

Signed,
Gerry DiNardo, 1999.
LSU was ranked #7 preseason in 1998 and subsequently went 7-14 the next 2 seasons until DiNardo was fired prior to Arkansas game. Crazy thing is... DiNardo has a better coaching history than LSU's current HC.

we are as talented or more talented than every team we play save bama. while uga had a phenomenal 2017, they lost an epic amount of talentand production.
our growing pains on the oline and dline last year should start to pay off this year

but that was when lsu wasnt recruiting like it is now or had been before this last class. we have more talent than than most sec schools. auburn, UGA are on lsu's level and bama has more but thats about it.

I like your optimism but you're forgetting who is steering this ship.

IMO, this team is way more talented than any team DiNardo had and this team has Aranda. I just don't see them having a losing season. Of course that's not good enough. This is just in response to the 8 loss season comment.

LSU should be arming up, instead we have an RPG fired by a slingshot.

well we are coming up on the most pivotal recruiting class since 2013.the state is loaded with talent.if we land all or most of the LA targets it will sustain lsu for the next 3 years.
Posted on 4/6/18 at 8:29 pm to TigerLunatik
We have TWO cornerbacks on the roster.
Posted on 4/6/18 at 8:34 pm to blackjackjackson
There is a very good chance that LSU is 2-7 or 3-9 after the Bama game. Let that sink in for a second.
