It was early enough in the game to make it purely speculative as to how it would have affected the outcome. But you have to figure OSU should've had at least 2 more runs. It was a HUGE break for us. But hey...we have had many many calls go against us throughout the years. I would feel more guilty if the game was tied in the 9th when it happened

Of course they are gonna talk about it. It was a big moment in the game. The real issue is, why do y'all care about it so much? Game is over. We won. We got one more for a trip to the championship series. Wgaf if they talk about that call? Hell, I hope we hit one in the EXACT same spot today, with the same call, then challenge and get it overturned and win by the exact amount of runs that result from that play. Just for maximum schadenfreude. frick 'em.

Other than momentum, what would the challenge have done? I guess they would have had 2 runs instead of 1. LSU still would have outscored them. I may be remembering incorrectly, but I thought it would have plated 2 on the hit. Then, there were no more base hits that inning. The walk would have not have scored a run.

The "break" to me is not on the missed call but that the OSU coaches didn't challenge it. Therefore they have a large part of the blame on themselves.

The thing that is frustrating is that it actually was in fact a foul ball. The angle they kept showing it at on TV is misleading. Yes, typically that line extending up from the chalk line and to the foul pole then to infinity is always a fair ball, but when the camera finally showed a straight on shot, or the view Duplantis would have had fielding it, its very clear that the line extending up the wall is not actually in line with the chalk or the foul pole. Its offset to the outer edge or foul territory. Perhaps a frick up when they laid the pads on the wall at TR Ameritrade, but that ball was foul because of that.

It hit yellow. They review it and it gets called fair.

t instead the story is about the umpires not stopping the game to help OS out which isn't their job.

stopping the game to review the play was precisely their fricking job. They completely blew the call and missed the fact that they should have reviewed the play. Some of you are really fricking stupid.

Ummm no. The ball bounces off of yellow pad. It doesn't matter what angle they showed. It hit yellow. It was clearly a fair ball.

It's a big deal. Not sure why people think it will just go away less than 24 hours later. When you talk about the game, it's by far the biggest moment.

The player who would have scored scored anyway. I doubt they let the player on first score on a review. It wouldn't have made a difference really.

Uhh first off, there would have been an extra base runner. Second off, there would have been one less out since he popped out to CF. To say they would've only gotten one more run is dumb.

I assume all of the mouth breathing retards downvoting still talk about the Patrick Peterson interception at Bama.

You think very little of this board. People still post the picture of the pp interception. It would go for much longer than 2 weeks

Wish they paid that much attention to Bama holding us on nearly every play!

Only legitimate criticism I've seen so far..

As tired as I am of hearing about it (including the entire game yesterday). It's definitely worth talking about from a broadcast perspective. The only problem I have with it is that ESPN is not framing it as an error on OSUs part. Their coach said it best...he could have and should have called for review and he didn't. This is on them just like a ground ball going through the legs of an infielder. It is simply an error on the coaching staff, period.

Did they mention Slaughter getting plunked and not being awarded a base. Not quite the implication, as we still got the base, but that was a horrible call too.

That was Slaughter. Who ended up walking anyway.

Doesn't make it any less of a terrible call. Like I said, it didn't have the implication, but it was still shitty umping.

I have seen them give bases for shirts being hit.
