Won’t happen.

We’re play mg in the Peach bowl against UCF.

If the committee members actually watched last night’s game, hopefully they see it arse a “woss” and don’t drop us below 12.

I’d love to play Michigan or Wazzou. Rather avoid Oklahoma and UCF for very different reasons.

It all depends Tuesday. If we are ranked one spot AFTER Penn State then our ONLY hope is UCF and Texas losing.
If we are ranked ahead of Penn State we need OU to win. UCF game wouldn’t really matter. (But like I said them losing 100% helps us). It’s the big 12 championship game that matters the most if we want in on NY6 game.

Isn’t the Sugar tied to a Big 12 - SEC matchup the same way the Rose is with the PAC 12 - Big 10? Meaning if Oklahoma makes the playoff Texas, or West Virginia, will go there by default?

ETA: And If UCF loses won’t that spot just be taken by the next highest G5 team?

Not if they're not ranked high enough. They place at-larges.

we are mirror images of one another just different conference

where do you think LSU's defense would be ranked if we were in the big 10?

You are correct. My apologies. I had to look back in 2015 OU made the playoff that year and #16 ranked Oklahoma State took its place in the sugar. So yes if Texas loses then it depends where the committee ranks Texas and West Virginia of who gets in the sugar.

You are also correct about UCF losing. Boise state and Fresno play this weekend both at 10-2 (Boise is ranked higher) if Boise wins they’ll replace UCF if UCF loses. If Fresno wins same scenario.

Sugar is set
Rose is set
Florida is in
Non power 5 conference winner is in
Washington state is in (I’d be shocked if LSU was ranked higher than them)

So with all that being said it definitely depends on if committee ranks LSU ahead of Penn State on Tuesday.

But from the same conference.
quote:

When not hosting semifinals, the Orange, Rose and Sugar bowls (the "contract bowls") will make their own pairings outside the CFP arrangement. Generally, they will take the champion of their contracted conference; if that champion qualifies for the playoff, the bowl will then choose a replacement from that conference.

Orange Bowl: ACC vs. SEC, Big Ten or Notre Dame*
Rose Bowl: Big Ten vs. Pac-12
Sugar Bowl: SEC vs. Big 12

Both of the ESPN guys in the link have Oklahoma winning the Big 12 and making the playoff, and Texas in the Sugar. The difference is one has us as a Fiesta at large while the other has Washington State there instead of us.

ETA: Just saw your follow up post. I think it comes down to us vs Washington State as long as chalk holds. If Texas and/or Northwestern wins we’re out.

I don’t think that’s correct if you refer to 2015-2016 season

#1-9 ranked teams had college football NY6 spots filled

#10,11,13,14,15 ranked teams at the time did not...

#12 ole miss made sugar
#16 Oklahoma state sugar
#18 Houston peach

One has us in the Fiesta, the other has us in the Citrus. Both have UCF vs Florida in the Peach.

I'd swear our record was 9-3.

I must have missed the LSU victory over Michigan. The Georgia (11-1) win was a good solid victory. Mississippi State (8-4) was a decent win. Auburn (7-5), Arkansas (2-10), OleMiss (5-7) and Miami (7-5) are laughable, and you can't seriously be touting these wins as some major accomplishment. Are you?

You fricking idiots want the coach fired.

I wouldn't lose any sleep over there being a major change in the coaching staff. I would hate to see Aranda go though.

But here we are, 3 years after Miles was let go and nothing has really changed. The won/loss record for the past 2 years isn't any different than what we got while Miles was here and the offenses have been statistically worse since o was hired.

But you fricking idiots that want to hang onto o. And some of you want to give the guy an extension.

Wow

I guess that would open up another at large spot assuming Alabama still made the playoff.

I agree with you. I don’t know where that writer thought that Texas would make the sugar bowl because he also had Oklahoma as four seed.

Is it possible that losing to Texas A&M brings us the fiesta bowl instead of the Chick-fil-A bowl? The Chick-fil-A bowl maybe ranked higher but a 12 o’clock start in Atlanta versus Scottsdale? Give me the desert
