So there is no difference between throwing 10 touchdowns in a season vs. throwing 20 touchdowns in a season? What if he only threw 4 td's and 2 interceptions. Still 2/1 right?
You do realize that Mett's junior year he threw 12TDs vs 7 INTs and had a lower completion percentage. That with OBJ, Landry, Boone and Wright to throw to.
Maybe he makes the same senior jump Mett did. maybe not. I doubt he will get the benefit of Landry and OBJ's sticky hands or ability to separate from defenders. But, the X-factor will be what Canada can provide to make the O more productive.

" rational observation "
None of us can truly make a rational observation about what the LSU offense is going to do this year since we have a brand new offense coordinator. Danny may thrive in this offense and then again, he might not. Canada might be a significant upgrade as an offense coordinator, and then he might not
The only thing that we really know is that we won't really know until we see them play. .

Pro tip. An "observation" is the act of observing something that has already taken place. For example, I can observe the prior performance of our offense and determine like most rational humans it wasn't good in the passing game. It's what got our most winning coach of all time fired.
You can't make a rational observation about the offense this year because it hasn't occurred yet. We can speculate that it will be better because of a new OC or hopefully far better qb play but we can also say with factual evidence to back it up that if the passing game doesn't improve it will be in the bottom of the SEC again. Because that's where it was last year. In all statistical categories.

I spoke out saying what I felt was declining play during that same time. Enter you to his defense.
You said he declined towards the end of the year. I listed 2 games where he had fantastic numbers. He also won all those games you're referring to. Facts not feelings bud

While these numbers are factual, it doesn't make them fantastic or disprove he was not in decline.
That it literally what they mean. In those 2 games he accounted FOR EIGHT TOUCHDOWNS. EIGHT. Etling had 12 in the entire season. If that's a "decline" I'd love for Etling to "decline" this season as well.

I'm pretty sure Jalen Hurts wishes he would not have thrown the majority of his INTS in the last 5 games of the season nor would he proclaim his play during that span as fantastic. You have no point.
I want you to read this carefully because you may realize how bad you are at this. In Alabama's last 5 games of the season Jalen Hurts threw a total of 2 interceptions. Want proof? LINK You are a really bad poster. You also upvote your own posts

LSU finished 3rd in the west last year and we return the fewest starters, and we have a 1st year head coach who was 3-21 in his last stint as a head coach in the SEC.
How can anyone truly bash someone for ranking us 4th? I mean I disagree but it is far from a hot take garbage pick
This. If you think about it half way objectively, i think 3rd is a realistic projection...but 4th isnt way off.
We have a lot to prove as a team and a program before getting pissed off when people dont think highly of LSU.
PS - Coach O has earned ZERO respect as a HC so far.

Seems 'bout right-------could be 3rd but 4th is a better guess......

ESPN has always been LSU's friend and biggest cheerleader. Not.

When LSU is good, ESPN pumps them up like crazy. Think about the multiple years Herby and Corso picked LSU to win it all, only to end up going 9-3.
ESPN likes LSU just fine, we're just not a great team yet.

Did not say ESPN has NEVER been a friend or cheerleader for LSU. What I said was they aren't always that. This may be that year, because if LSU does well, they will be on the bandwagon again, in a heartbeat. Or maybe not, depending on who their golden team is this year.

ESPN has hyped LSU many times. Corso and Herbstreit have both picked LSU for the playoffs in the past few years, and it didn't work out.
I think LSU is going to be pretty damn good this year, but 4th in the division is hardly an unreasonable pick. A&M has a volatile roster and could very well have a monster year (they could also completely implode). You can't get ticked at every single prediction. I disagree with 4th in the West, but it's not an unreasonable pick. It would be a bad year.

You know, since you asked me a question, I'd like to ask you a few. Who gets your preseason Heisman vote? Who's your front runner for the SEC offensive player of the year?
Posted on 8/31/17 at 11:22 am to UpToPar
660 suggests BYU gets it to about the 40 each drive and has one hell of a punter for us to have seven drives chalking up that kind of yardage.
I don't see BYU getting first downs every drive nor a net punting average [less returns] near 45 yards.
Ain't going to happen.

Heisman - Sam Darnold slightly over Lamar Jackson because USC's team will probably be better than Lousiville and can make the playoffs.
SEC Off POY - the front runner is the player who won the award last year as a true freshman and who's team is a massive favorite to win the conference, Jalen Hurts. Guice is most likely second although if Auburn has a great season and somehow wins the west beating Bama in the Iron Bowl that means Stidham would have had an unbelievable season and would win it under that scenario.

USC has to win the PAC-12 IMO for Darnold to win it. Louisville will face better competition by default and LJ would be hard to overlook if they do to FSU what they did to them last year Remeber they gave Clemsom all they could handle. As far as SEC OFF POY, I like our guy simply because the show is his now.
