On a side note, the dude will be 1 of our best receivers. His yards after catch will be through the roof. He can handle this in 2 ways, he can take the attitude that "I'm bigger than LSU and Les Miles" or he can let his play on the field define his skill level, this would be the easier softer way.

The kid made a mistake, but it's a non-factor going forward.
I disagree with some who have said that LF brought this all on himself, though. 99% of the hype was generated by external sources, including one head coach who compared him to Michael Jordan. Can you blame the kid if some of that went to his head?

coaches taught him a little something on the next TD by giving the ball to hillard after LF got them down there. Teachable moment for sure. He will gain more from that than if everything was easy and he never had any obstacles.

quote:Yeah. He shouldn't have been listening to all of those people out there about him being a Heisman candidate. He should have know they were just stringing him along.
Probably so, but again he brought this on himself and It was obviously foolish, Les even thought so.

seriously. he was on the heisman watch list BEFORE the UW game

the talking idiots on Sports Center say so?

How is it any worse than throwing up money signs

Hanigriff and Ott are killing Fournette right now.

Over exageration is what ESPN does. The only negative to the whole thing was that the only replay of the whole game was of the run and the pose. It will blow over just like the money sign last year, and if LF keeps getting carries he may just stick it back in their face when he's holding the trophy.

I agree with those saying that espn and other talking heads are making way too much of this.
If we're going to make threads to complain every time the media (especially ESPN) does something stupid and/or asinine, this board is going to be filled with obnoxious, stupid and pointless threads full of blustering blowhards and jabbering jacka- . . .
. . .
. . . nevermind.

quote:Actually, there is. I'm really surprised he didn't get flagged for it. I don't recall the last time I saw someone do it and not get penalized for it.
Their is a rule against posing?
Peterson did in 2010. And players get penalized for MUCH less all the time (Charles Scott and AJ Green in '09).

quote:Actually, that's one of the things that I actually am concerned about; he seemed to get run down fairly consistently when he did break into the open. I thought he was supposed to have really good breakaway speed?
His home run threat will open up the playbook.

I thought he had better character than this.
Character concerns really? from doing a pose? Yep it's official, most fans and media of the college football world have gone full retard.

I've played a lot of sports in my life. Both in school, and in rec leagues. I was always a standout (except baseball, never like it, but I played anyway). The hardest sport I ever played was ice hockey. I could skate extremely fast, but getting that motherfricking puck to do what you want it to do is extremely frustrating.
Well a couple years into my rec league hockey career, I score my first hat trick. Now I had celebrated goals before, but this was a little different. I instantly had to come up with a celebration to beat all celebrations, because I had never had one, and might well never get one again. So I did what any respectable rec league hockey player would do. I spiked both of my gloves onto the goalie, one at a time. Then I put my stick between my legs, and galloped around their offensive zone as if riding a horse into the sunset. Then I took said horse, and threw it like a harpoon down the length of the rink towards my own goal and skated off without a care in the world.
So, being about his age when this incident occurred, I say good job LF, good job. If you get hit by a car and die this week, at least you partied like it was your last TD ever.

Why is it puzzling?? You don't do a heisman pose against a FCS team
I thought the NFL was the No Fun League. You know what, let's ban an excitement for doing anything on the field. Everybody walk out, do what you do, then walk back to the sideline. Stay quiet unless a coach tells you something, don't laugh, don't jump. When you do something big on the field, don't touch any of your teammates. That means no hand shakes, dap, chest bump, jump on your teammate, arm lock, etc.
Sometimes I question if people realize that we are watching a game, not a wartime or political strategy meeting.
