The one's I worked at were strict as hell about it, I can't say I know what Shady's policies are, then again I worked at place that was a lot more classy than a college bar. Had a friend get fired for taking a sip of his jack and coke about 10 minutes before his shift was over, thought it was pretty common to not have your employees drinking while on the job.

pretty much every bar or restaurant that serves alcohol has pretty strict no-drinking on the job policies

Don't point that at me. I know better. Some bars do, some bars don't.

I agree with this entire thing. Dudes got their arse kicked. End of story.

I can't imagine it ever being in a local bar's interest to throw the team under the bus, but maybe they're for real.

I can tell you now I don't give a frick who you are. If someone starts a fight with me, and I get him on the ground somehow I am beating him until he is no longer a threat in my mind. Not the people who are standing around opinions.

There are four people pressing charges. Lowery is one of four.

Lowery does not have broken vertebrae.

Regardless of his actions, there is video of him being kicked on the ground in a defenseless position. Not good, not good at all.

2) How is who started it relevant to charges of 2nd degree battery. Just cause someone swings first doesn't mean it's okay to kick then while they are down and defenseless at the end of the fight.

I think if I were in a position of a D/A or even of the police having to decide whether to charge and prosecute this case it would be very relevant to me. Things like the character of the alleged victims, their starting the fight, a prior record for (at least) one, (at least one) getting kicked out of school, one having a restraining order against him. etc. etc. would play a huge part in my decision on whether I can successfully prosecute.

Which part of the incident was this? Inside the bar or outside the bar? Supposedly were two incidents where people were kicked out of the bar and then the brawl outside.

Yes. I wondered this as well.

Main accuser? There were 3 other victims in all of this. discrediting one for being involved in an incident inside doesn't clear wrongdoing by the players against the other 3.

The video backs up parts of the police report, so the players aren't getting off based on Lowery being a hot head inside the bar.

- Andrew Lowery is incapacitated (as shown on video)
- Andrew Lowery is kicked in the face by a taller than average black male (which is also shown on the video)

PR is PR - but the LAW is the LAW. All the DA needs is that video + motive. Witnesses provide motive, even the ones who think they are helping JJ.

If this is the type of behavior they are capable of then why has this not happened before??
Especially against Arkansas...

My point is a brawl like this is not instigated by one side, there is mutual aggression by both parties involved.
I see what you're saying, but the initial story, i.e., truck blocked in, honked/yelled to move, players attack, is not that unlikely under those circumstances.

Maybe not, but if someone starts a fight with me and throws a punch, he better not think the fight is over just because his bitch arse is in the fetal position.

I don't know how many of you have been in a bar fight, but I wasn't always the sweetheart I am today. The combination of adrenaline and alcohol makes it pretty hard to stop just because someone hits the ground.

unfortunately, in the court of public opinion, the first stories have gained traction and few across the country are bothering to catch up on the story. There are still folks who are outraged at JJ for ripping a defenseless veteran Marine from a truck and curb-stomping him, all because he tooted his horn to get out of a parking lot.
