Did he come back after getting "hurt"? Replay looked to me like he was the 12th man and was supposed to run off the field, but knew he wouldn't make it cause he took too long. So he fell down and clutched the leg to not give us a free play.

Well let's go with the best of both worlds, which is a possibility. He really busted his arse tripping while trying to get to the sideline, making the fall funny. Then he faked the injury, so he's not hurt, and we get to pull the "see, you bitches fake injuries too!" card on MSU.
