He didn't look like a first rounder on that Wallace keeper for a TD. No Way he is a First Rounder. 3rd rounder this year. By the way who is next in line?

I agree Elam from UF and TJ Mcdonald from USC will go ahead of Reid in the draft. He does not look like a first rounder at all. He gets beat alot, takes bad angles and is not really that fast. IMO he needs to come back and somebody close to him thats football smart should really put it in his mind that he really could improve his stock alot if he were to return. For the people that think otherwise do not watch his play obviously.

You're right about Simon and wrong about Reid. Reid will be a good safety in the NFL. He has played hurt this year and was probably only really motivated for the stretch of USC, Florida, Tamu, and Bama. The preceding were boresville and the remainder was anticlimactic with no championship on the line.

Simon will be borderline in the NFL, but he might as well go because he won't get any better. His problem is he's just too lanky to stop and start with he quick receivers. Some team might keep him to match up with the big receivers like Colston.

Simon would be nuts to leave early. I have a feeling Eric Reid comes back. Playing for LSU and earning his degree are very important to him as he's stated many times. It didn't hurt LaRon Landry to come back for his senior year

Being hurt has nothing to do with his terrible angles hes taking and lack of knowing that you are the last line of defense and theres no way a receiver should be 10 yards up field past you.

I think his potential will be enough for him to get a good grade from the scouts and bolt after this year.

Have you ever seen him run down anyone with speed? His bad angles look even worse because he has no closing speed. Before this year I was thinking that he would have an AA year and leave. He is having his worst year and will probably still leave.

Either we are not as fast in the back end as we used to be or everyone else has gotten faster. We used to never get gashed for long runs as much unless it was someone special like McFadden. This year we miss a tackle, its trouble.

That's been my question every time this idea of him leaving early comes up. Does anyone know his actual 40 time? If he can go to the combine and light up the 40, then yes he is gone. If there's any doubt about his speed then he'll need to stay. This really isn't a difficult issue.

TL, DR: Fast 40 time = he gone. Slow = he stays.

Spoke with a friend of E.Reids while watching the players go into stadium, as a matter of fact Ried came over and spoke to the man and shook mine and his hand. Man told me he is for sure gone and i cant blame him even if he goes in 2nd round. You cant play forever especially being a physical player like him. i expect him to make his money while he can although i do believe his stock could rise next year.Seemed to be a great guy wish him the best!

Reid gained too much weight to play free safety...I think his bad angles are a result of a loss in speed that he hasn't yet compensated for.

At his current weight I think he would be better suited for strong safety as opposed to the deep safety playing center field.

FWIW, I spoke with his father on the field this Saturday and he told me that they will sit down with the coaches after the season an decide....and he is on schedule to graduate NEXT December. He never promised his parents to graduate BEFORE going to the NFL - only that he would graduate.
