I know for a fact he is gone. Daughter to support. Family has already been in contact with agents.

Or having freshman around him. Mo Claiborne and TM7 didn't need much help.

Coaches like Cooper are hard to replace. He put many in the NFL

This seems to make more sense to me. Return and play healthy next year and lead the D for a title run. He's had a bad year. He needs to show the scouts how he plays healthy if he comes out this year may not get drafted on first day

no, but doesn't he have a daughter?

i think this has been understated this yr. this was a big loss and it shows. doesn't help to have so much youth either.

He is gonzo.
He is widely ranked as the second S to be taken in the draft (Texas' Bacarro is the first) and should be picked in the late 1st or early 2nd round.
His status will be further solidified when he works out for the NFL guys because he is an athletic freak. He will wow them and they will rightly agree that all he needs is a little more coaching and experience. And he can get that in the NFL.

Hopefully having a national championship ring is important to him.

I guess we will continue to watch and see what happens with the DB's. What worries me is CLM doesn't have a good history of acting FAST on firing and hiring coaches.
Which means if the DB's are falling off than we will likely see it all of next year.
Too soon to tell though

we have guys that ave never played before and id say loston has had his best season yet. so in reality, reid is the only one that has fallen off a lil bit. I think raymond is fine and still needs time to work on these guys and the guys coming in 2013.

i sometimes think this is an unfair thing to say about a player.
just because they leave, it doesn't mean they didn't think an NC was important. what's forgotten in all this is that football are these guys' livelihoods and the average career for an NFL player is pretty short.
it's so easy as fans to tell a player to come back but there are so many variables to deal with.
an nc ring while a great accomplishment doesn't put food on the table and doesn't really help your draft status (although it doesn't hurt it either)

what does having freshman around him have to do with the poor angles he's taking?
did you see him bite on that juke move Moncrief did on the long TD in the first Half? Simon was outside moncrief and when he juked Reid went with him and lost his inside angle and then Moncreif came back in and got right by both of them. that's terrible play for a S. Has nothing to do with CB play.

He's made some plays this year.
And tons of missed tacles, bad angles and blown coverages to cancel those great plays out.
Had he not had the pick in the Game of the Century, he'd be just another player. Personally, I'd like to see someone else get some PT.

well i agree with your last sentence. way too soon to talk about firing anyone. LSU's D is still pretty highly ranked, and the team has a shot at 11 wins. with transfers and TM7 leaving he was dealt a pretty shitty hand. he needs more time before we start talking about firing.

This was my point. Not coaching.

Wallace outran him. Needs to work on his speed.

quote:Every major draft expert and mock drafts. Not saying he deserves a second round grade after this last years performance but he has all of the physical tools and is very smart. If you look at the NFL, all of the great defenses have great safeties meaning alot of teams are looking for a great safety. Bottom line is that he is probably the second best safety in this next years class. Definitely in the top 5. He misses tackles too often and takes horrible angles, probably the two things NFL coaches think they can fix the easiest.
When you day he is a first or second rounder where do you come up with this.
