Enough of the "rally possum" - makes us sound like hillbillies

This is what we sound like when we talk about the rally possum. We win games because of better play than our opponent, and we lose games because of opponents play better than we did. Some possum has nothing to do with it.
Louisiana has a bad enough rep for being backwards without having some "rally possum" hype.
The tiger is our mascot and lets keep it that way.

Baseball is full of superstition and ridiculous beliefs. It helps pass the time and give players and fans something to do or think about. It's been that way for a long long time.
Touching bats a certain way, rally caps, etc etc. If it wasn't a possum it would be a bird.

A bird would be fine. Possums are terrible and good for nothing. I had to go out a shoot (or let my dog exterminate) every possum I could find because one of my sister's horses contracted the nerve disease in possum feces.

A possum ran onto the baseball field during a game and assaulted an opposing player. On TV. Impossible to cover up our redneck/backwoods
