He's hard to read in this way. Last year, we wondered if he realized that obviously the co-DC's were a disaster and when the opportunity to came to do something about it after the season, he rectified the situation.

I'd rather a slightly more honest assessment of things from him, but he's not one to use the media to send messages like his predecessor.

He's definitely aware of the perceived issues, but who knows if he agrees or has plans to fix them.

Like a lot of people, I was not fond of the hiring of LM, but he won me over those first three years. I have to admit though that it seems like he has no clue now and I cringe every time he talks. He's like the spokesman from the old Soviet Ministry of Information. He just keeps repeating the same old line, believing that if he says it enough, it'll become the truth.....

So do y'all think he just doesn't know there are issues or that he just doesn't publicly air the dirty laundry?

If he said the whole thing was a "process" - would this make everyone feel better?

I think he and the rest of the staff are just as concerned as the fans; we do not know what goes on behind the closed doors of practices and meetings.

I, like some others on here, will hold off on the bitching until we lose.

I hope we get things improved in some areas, but I am also glad we won on this year's version of survival Saturday.

There is no problem. We are undefeated. You know how many teams would kill to be undefeated right now. It is Fla, Tex, Ala, then us. Is the problem that we're not #1? Do you think you know more about this team then Les? I think going into the heart of our schedule now we know much more about Florida than Florida knows about us. That is exactly the way Les likes it. How do you fire an undefeated coach? Get on the band wagon now because once we beat Florida the band wagon is closed.

Actually, JJ's passing game is the problem. The kid just doesn't have the nuts to take more shots down field....and he has yet to consistently complete the down the field passes (not the short passes.) Stop blaming the OL for the short comings of the QB.

Obviously you have been watching bizzaro LSU where the OL is opening gaping holes for the RB's and giving Jefferson all day to throw the ball. It's damn near consensus that the OL is not as good as Miles had made it out to be but what you see is a QB not "having the nuts" to take more shots down field. Your post might have more credibility if you just started by saying you don't like Jefferson. Our RB's rushed for 33 yards yesterday but you say it's the QB's shortcomings and not the OL. Jefferson was the offense yesterday. As for having the "nuts" to throw down the field, maybe Jefferson is doing what he's instructed to do rather than doing what he chooses to do and costing his team the game ala Josh Booty.

I have always liked Miles. I am a Louisiana boy. However I went to Oklahoma State for a while. Watched Miles there. Always seemed to be a good coach... Get the best out of his players. But these days... Im really starting to wonder.... The play calling is awful. Running a sweep option to the short side of the field.... Never to the wide side. Never letting Shep run that play... Not utilizing the talent we have. Especially the freshmen. It is so obvious that Shep would rush for some big yards.... But no... Miles wants to run Scott and Williams regardless of their production. Why? The only thing I can come up with is they are Seniors... At some point you have to realize that you need to do whats best for the TEAM! Not the SR's.

Why is it that Bryce Brown, Trent Richardson, and others are making big plays and showing up on game day footage and our STUDS are not. Why? Because Miles wont play them because they are freshmen. Its like Shep, Ruben, Ford, and Loston have all gotten lost on the sideline... Yeah I kinda bought the "vanilla" play for a bit.... But when it becomes very obvious that its gona be a close game.... Uncork it man. I totally expected to loose that game yesterday. You look at Miles on the sideline and you have NO emotion. None... Seems that he has gotten too comfortable since the National Championship win.... He needs to realize that if Shep had not ran the ball in the first half, we would be looking at about 10yds rushing total as a team. Complete B.S. If running shep is the only way we can get rushing yardage... So be it. Do whats best for the team.

What a fricking moron.

TR made the highlight reel because Arkansas missed 5 tackles on one play.

Tolliver, Jefferson, Jones, Peterson, etc all started games as true freshman.

Know what you're talking about before you run your mouth.

It won't happen, but I think LSU should "junk" the Spread Option to a 3rd option strategy in the overall offensive mix. The Spread is, along with inexperienced personnel, what's making LSU look mediocre. LSU has effectively abandoned the "run" from Day One with the intro of the Spread Option, and in my opinion, it is more predictable than our traditional formations.

You will find very few teams that have an established running game in the Spread Formation, no matter how good their OLine is, without an experienced QB who makes the opposing Defense "shudder in fear" of the passing game. UT and OU are about the only teams that really come to mind, and even OU has experience major problems with running the football (and OU has had a very experienced Oline in the past couple of years). McCoy and Bradford have the experience and accuracy to keep the entire field open. Sorry, but JJ doesn't have that.

LSU does not have a great passing game because the spread option does not have adequate pass protection versus more traditional formations. Also, JJ looks extremely unpolished in deep throws - only good at 10-15 yds - no real touch on short or deep passes. Add to that an inconsistent pass blocking OLine, and you have a recipe for big-plays going to the other team. It is not an offense that renders itself to good ball-control, which seems like our only way to really win a big game against upcoming stronger opponents.

Damnit, we're very similar to Ohio State on offense. We have a tradition of beating people with a strong power game and effective play-action passing. We've effectively turned this team to a pure West Coast "7 on 7" style......which I hate. Give me the more traditional offense like Bama runs, with a few variations such as the Pistol or Wild Tiger formations, and when you use those, don't hand the opposition your "script" of what you're getting ready to run, which appears to be the case.

BayouBlitz.... Your a frickin Mooron. Why dont you go back in your frickin trailer and finish drinking your Ripple. Another perfect example of why I never post here. Dumbfricks that think they know every damn thing in the world about LSU and treat everyone else like they are a piece of shite.

Im glad you know so damn much. I have followed Les Miles for Years. He did the same shite at OSU. I also followed him when he was at Dallas. You prob didn't even know who the hell he was before he cam here. Dumbfrick. He has always been loyal to Sr's...

IF you know so damn much, explain to me why Ruben has caught one damn pass. Shep has touched the ball maybe 12 times for close to 100yds. Pretty good damn average there. No one else has done shite. Yeah those guys you listed did play. Sparingly but they did play. The only reason Jefferson played was because of an injury. He refused to play him before that. BUt your prob too frickin stupid to remember that. Yeah Chad Jones played as a Freshman. But that was due to Pelini. I might also add that Jones hasnt done shite since Pelini left. Up until the two pick on the cajuns and last night. So take your a-hole, all knowing, dumbfrick arse somewhere else if you can have a conversation without treating people like they are the frickin enemy. We are all fans and supporters. Jackass.

Reuben has caught one pass because he plays behind 2 very talented veterans. Idiot.

Shep is a great option with his package. If you think for a second that he's ready to command the team...well, I suggest you try spectating lawn darts or something more your level.

So Pelini was to credit for a freshman playing, but Miles is to blame for freshman not playing? You make no sense.

TR had 1 good run yesterday, after 5 Razorbacks missed sure tackles. No reason to go sucking his cock.

How many true freshman is Florida and Texas playing?

Until you have been to all the practices and seen first hand that these freshman are better than the veterans, you don't know shite.

And if me bringing that reality home to you makes you not want to post, please don't.

Well...this whole brouhaha will come apart at the seams, starting next Saturday. Either the fears of the "negatigers" will be found to be honest and forthright assessments of what is apparently coaching weaknesses...or the coaches will rally this team to the level of play that our fanatical fans expect, and that the extraordinary athletes on the team are capable of.

The O-line is problematic; but I don't see Jefferson running for his life, every other play. In fact, if we spread it waaay out...Jefferson's running ability could be our trump card.

And damm this senior loyalty thing that Miles has going on. The TEAM man...winning for the team...is good for the seniors and the fans too. Get Shepard on that field, in instances where the dude has options, and the defense don't already know exactly what he will do. Innovation...based on our strengths, and not some repressed ultr-conserbative ideology. If Miles is 'saving' anything...when we were four inches from being ranked out of the top twenty

If the higly compensated Miles, et al, don't get their act together...the fanbase will come unglued in the next two weeks. We see it, and if he don't...shame on him.

ps...he's a great guy and fatherly loyal to his players; but he might be not be the kind of coach the LSU fanbase's high expectations demand. .

Conflicted fan...RC

Ah, the old "a win is a win" philosophy. Fair enough. But if a win is a win, and nothing can possibly be wrong with a team that wins, then a loss must also be a loss, and nothing can possibly be right with a team that loses. Remember that after the Georgia, Florida, Auburn, Alabama, Ole Miss and Arkansas games.

I don't want to be a "negatiger", but this season has the faint aroma of 1998 on it. Loads of talent, but somewhat directionless and suffering from a stubborn and inflexible HC.

As has been noted, Miles can do some things to get things "righted " (and, contrary to the statements of others, you can have a good record [even undefeated] and still be in bad shape [again, I refer you to the 1998 LSU campaign {LSU started out 3-0}]). It is just a question of whether he will do those things.
