Taking into account the three guys taken last night that won't be here next year, we are currently at 40/35 on the roster.
To this point, that is a pretty low number.

"Enlow projects as a mid-rotation starter, although he could be more than that if his fastball reaches its maximum potential and if the change-up develops into a plus pitch. He’s being mentioned as a late first round or supplemental round possibility on draft day and he’ll definitely need to be selected early due to the signability issues. College becomes increasingly likely if he gets too far past the top of the second round."

I also know him and he would love to come to LSU

This. He has made it known that he wants to play at LSU unless he gets 1st/early 2nd round money. that's why he's fallen so far. The age old tale of "signability"

Right, but at this point the money has plummeted.

signability played a major part in how things have gone.
I would agree. It's not based on his talent evaluation.
Enlow was shown as "next best 5 prospects" on MLB's screen crawl from the time Lange was drafted.

If this is in fact the case doesn't it look pretty good for him to get to campus.
You would think he got some phone calls last night and if it wasn't enough money then why would it be enough money later on?

Because the ability to reorganize your board overnight may lead to finding money in places you didn't think you had it. IE more underslot guys rising up your board because your original targets are already gone.

Makes sense but wouldn't they have had to be relatively close to his number already and are willing to dump almost all of their under slot savings on one pick.

Yes. Which does limit the number of teams still able to afford him, but doesn't eliminate the risk entirely. Essentially, the teams to still worry about are the ones drafting near the top of each round that also had comp round picks. They have the largest pool and the most give with each individual.
Like the Twins. No player is worth the 1/1 slot money, so they get to spread that out essentially over as many players as they can. They could realistically have saved anywhere from 2.8MM to 3.8MM dollars to spread among their other players just on Royce Lewis.

I'd bet the Twins would offer several hundred Gran over slot, could be willing to come to 1.25 maybe...

Enlow won't be drafted until after the 10th round. After the 10th, players can receive any amount of $ they demand. Rounds 1-10 are slotted money, after that any team can pay however much they want. I'd ask for at least 1.7 million, after taxes and agent fees you would clear a million

This is incomplete/inaccurate information.

I don't think that is the case....could be wrong, but if he's holding out for 2.5M and he sticks to it, he will be in LSU dugout next year
Posted on 6/13/17 at 11:28 am to tduecen
I don't doubt that they would.
I just feel like he had to have got some calls last night and his number wasn't met since hes still available and the savings are getting smaller.
Just trying to stay positive about it

No doubt he was contacted yesterday by multiple teams....but if he stuck to the 2.5M, that's why he is still available. He didn't fall out of the first 2 rounds because of talent.
Maybe Paul increased his scholarship % and sweetnened the pot on LSU end
