Emmy Awards Leave Broadcast TV... more defeat for the establishment media

Not even providing a link... I hope all of them have to go underground... though this one is moving to Amazon Prime for a 6 year contract.
The only difference between these awards and the AVN is the amount of tastelessness on display.
Funny, to me it contradicts this statement, instead signaling television is dead -- streaming is king.

In the release, Prime Video was named as the "permanent home" for the Emmys, in contrast to the rotating agreement in place years prior. The switch ends the traditional "wheel-deal" setup to broadcast the awards, where ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox took turns hosting the Emmys each year. The system has been in place since at least 1994, with the most recent eight-year contract expiring this year.
The only difference between these awards and the AVN is the amount of tastelessness on display.

"Television has never been more global, and the Emmys should be a celebration that the world can share," Television Academy chair Cris Abrego said in a statement. "Having a dedicated home with Prime Video allows us to build on that legacy with unprecedented global reach and a broader commitment to the Television Academy and our mission throughout the year."

Thank goodness for no agenda streaming platforms like Prime and Netflix.

The Oscars are going to start streaming live on YouTube here in the next couple of years.

Cable tv is dying. Everything will be streaming eventually.

I should have also noted, that although it will be on Amazon Prime (IIRC in over 250 countries), it will be made available, for free to anyone who wants to watch, even if they don't have Prime.
I think this is funny as hell.... TV was probably having a tough time attracting advertisers.
I just wish it was Apple or Netflix... neither of which I give my money to at the moment.

1) I haven't watched conventional television in several years. I'm not even sure I could name one television show airing today, other than a couple or so reality TV shows like DWTS or "Survivor" which have been on for decades now.
2) When I was young, I actually watched the Academy Awards on occasion. It was a different era, and most of the "stars" seemed like pretty cool people, like Clint Eastwood and Jack Nicholson. Everybody knew that Nicholson was a "lefty" regarding politics, but he didn't browbeat people or feel the need to lecture to them.
But, now? I have absolutely no interest in listening to some virtue-signaling left-wing loon like Robert DeNiro, Will Ferrell, or Jennifer Anniston lecture me on Trump, Covid, or anything else.
Hollywood is dying, and it's absolutely a positive development. Some sensible companies seem to be rising up to hopefully form a new version of Hollywood that will focus on what Old Hollywood used to also do, namely making quality entertainment and leaving radical left-wing political views and agendas out of the equation.

Then someone will package all the streaming services into one package and we’ll be right back. People get tired of having to use multiple apps to watch TV.

Huge difference in picture quality for over the air broadcasts and 4k Blu-Ray over the highly compressed stuff that comes in on streaming.

I respect the AVN more. At least they admit to being whores.
