that's what i've been saying on the sec rant. he won't have to be huge in every game any more. dish, occasionally create, occasionally shoot. his numbers might actually go down but he could still be improving

At no point last season did I get the impression Waters was selfish. I think he wanted to be a PG that controlled the game more than just a big time scorer. However, there were many possessions where he was basically the only good option in the possession so he took the shot.

To me, his greatest quality is that he isn't afraid of the big moment. He's more than happy to take the huge pressure shot or have the ball in his hands when LSU absolutely has to have a bucket. That's an innate mindset. Not something that can be coached.

Is Taylor really that good ?

No one really knows, that's kind of the point of the post.

What people do know is that he has great athletic ability and is a dynamic leaper, which can't be coached. He also shot nearly 40% from 3 in JUCO last year.

What we also know is that he has only been playing basketball for 4 years of his life, so he still has a lot about the game to learn; but I for one have a great deal of faith in Wade and staff to instill that knowledge and develop him.

People weren't sure what he was like with the ball in his hands, more specifically what he is like putting it on the floor. We now have a former LSU head coach who has observed him in practice scrimmages (albeit on a limited basis) as having an ability to put the ball on the floor and get to the hoop with success.

Combine all of that with the fact that Wade made the statement earlier this week that the team has definitely upgraded at 3 position (which is a reference, at least in part, to Taylor) leads many fans to believe that in time, he will be a really good player. May not be early this season, or this season at all, but definitely at some point.

I believe there's s purple one as well. I don't care for black LSU gear.

Had a chance to sit with him a recent team dinner. He’s quite the personality as well. Can’t wait

Only time will tell, but when a former coach starts speaking positively about someone, it is a good sign ;-)

Pretty sure Wade said recently he feels very good about the 3 position because of Taylor/Edwards and what they've shown.

A friend of mine attends their practices regularly and said Taylor has been the most impressive so far along with Smart. I am hoping to attend soon to get a look.

Goddamn November can’t get here fast enough. Everything I read about the team just ramps up my excitement level. I feel prettt confident in saying I don’t recall being this excited in advance of a basketball season in my lifetime. Granted I’m only just about to turn 30, but still. There’s something special about the PMAC when we’ve got a great, exciting team. Let’s go

I honestly enjoy the atmosphere inside a packed PMAC more than TS sometimes. you just feel more like you're involved with the game in the smaller setting.
