They were both nobodies when that album was recorded. Slim Shady LP came out like a year later and nobody knew who Kid Rock was until that album came out.

Eminem isnt a terrible musician. If you dont enjoy rap that's fine but his first few albums were incredible.
He understands the craft and is very technical.
Kid rock is just a rich kid that got pushed on mainstream like taylor swift.
