My point here is that the shear amount of stubbornness here is insane. They REFUSE to give him the benefit of the doubt. Even though he’s earned it. They blame every problem on him yet give him very little credit for his success.

Look at the ridiculous contract pelini got. Who is known for giving contracts like that with huge buyouts? That’s woodies buddy.

He earned it then lost it last year. He can earn it back this year.

Last year was so so bad.

We had one of those. We ran him off.

Then we shite the bed in spectacular fashion on the replacement.
Followed by the worst defense in LSU history.

And followed that by hiring the 5th option available.

So where are we really...we’re going to find out soon.

Because that’s where it belongs.

And there was plenty praise for him in ‘19.

What exactly do you want people to do? He was mediocre prior to ‘19, great in ‘19, then shitty. I mean that’s just facts.

Tell the fan base how to feel, please.

Not sure it’s fair to say we “ran him off”. We all knew he would get a head coaching job or move the the NFL at some point.

And there isn’t a better time to do it that after a championship.

It’s not like Aranda took a lesser job just to get away from Ed.

Im honestly surprised how much good will he has on this board after last season and the offseason stuff.

A national championship and a heisman will do that for a coach. That earned him a pass for last year especially considering all of the weirdness surrounding the year. Replacing most of the team, damn near all of the coaching staff, in the middle of a pandemic, while going through a divorce and on top of that having outside instigators trying to rally the team against you.

It was a difficult year and he didn’t handle it well. I don’t know many coaches who could have. He deserves a pass for last year. He’s all out of free passes now though.

Let me tell you where the “Woody hired Pelini” bullshite came from because I witnessed it’s creation. . Some Rantard made the assertion that even though Woody passed on Pelini at Washington and had only known him through their time at LSU together that Pelini had to be hired by Woody because he read somewhere that Woody asked Pelini about a coach he hired at Washington. That’s where the story comes from and these idiots have grown the story and added a ton of make believe onto it. Woody didn’t hire Pelini, Orgeron did and he didn’t interview him because the hire pissed of multiple coaches and players so he quickly made the hire before the rift got back to Woody who was none too pleased when he found out about the entire process. The entire narrative about Woody and Pelini is a total lie.

Doesn't CEO blame every problem on himself? Pretty sure he consistently says "I'm the head coach. That one is on me. I need to do better."

It's funny because while he says that, his super supporters will come up with every excuse under the sun for him. You get mad at posters for pointing out flaws and not giving him the benefit of the doubt, yet for every point someone has come up with you give some sort of excuse for it.

yet give him very little credit for his success.
No one in here has said he doesn't get credit for 2019. But you're one of the few people who says he shouldn't get blamed for 2020. See how that works. You're saying he should get all the credit for the best but very little blame for the worst.

You're no different than what you're claiming the others to be.

Sadly, this sounds like a very Ed Orgeron thing to do.

He took a year off and that was obvious. Want him back on track and focused.

More referring to the large amount of morons here.

You’re right though, technically he left for a better position. I think there was part of him that was tired of certain things here though.

That internal trouble we had last year everyone was blaming politics for was actually about that.

I don’t doubt that, but I think he still would have stayed had he not gotten a head coaching gig.

Well it didn't help that CEO basically shite all over Aranda and then proceeded to come out with the worst defense LSU quite possibly has ever had.

Oh and that was after telling everyone that the defense was better then the defense on the 2019 national championship team

Why did O have to tell the media exactly how often we plan to use Stingley on offense?

I think thats dumb

You’d be surprised how often people say he “lucked out” in 2019. Yet 2018 was arguably just as impressive considering all the “experts” picked LSU to go 6-6 and yet they finished ranked in the top 10.

Because 5 years ago he was many people’s 3rd choice to be the coach here. And some will still view him that way no matter what he does
