Sure. I readily admit that.
But there are just as many (Tiger Ree for one) who act like Ed is perfect and and cannot even admit that even a tiny bit of criticism is warranted. Everything that doesn’t go right for Ed is someone else’s fault.

I'm going to speculate and say that Bo Pelini didn't mind being fired. But the biggest reason was Ed O wanted to go for a youth movement because of the poisonous atmosphere that was created by the BLM insanity that swept through the country like a raging wild fire and infected everything because 2020 was also a presidential election year. He wanted a younger coaching staff who could relate to the players better and after what transpired at LSU because of BLM.

If every team had lost over 30 players from the previous season then had no spring practice the circumstances would have played out to be more even.
When a team is replacing that many players and has no spring then every team that had returning players had a leg up.

Jesus, that’s almost worse, that it wouldn’t have changed his mind. Hiring a guy who hasn’t called a defense in years, was a failure at the lower level, and had trouble stopping the spread. Then why hire him?

Correct! Hester said repeatedly that not only defensive players liked Pelini, but Pelini was respected by offensive players as well. Pelini was always available to help any player that needed his help.
It unfortunate that circumstances often dictates a person's reputation.
