But with that being said, you explain the NCG?

General lack of game plan; not that unprecedented even by our current coaches' standards considering we haven't actually beaten Alabama since 2011

Most talented LSU team recruited soley by Les Miles and coached by Les Miles, managed to go 50/50 with one of the most talented Alabama teams of all-time... Les Miles wasn't a bad coach. He had his faults and it was time to move on but it's ridiculous to rip into him the way you and a few select others have been the past few weeks especially. Tearing down Les Miles won't convince the Orgeron doubters that he's any more capable of winning games; the only thing that will do that is Ed Orgeron continuing to win

Did O not take over a team loaded with NFL talent?

Alabama was an all time great team.

Beating that team once, on the road, was one of the most impressive wins in program history.

Beating that defense twice, with what we had at QB, was a virtual impossibility.

So LSU can beat Bama once in OT by 3, but when Bama wins by 21 you don't think the game plan or the month before the NCG has anything to do with coaching?

I won't say he had no NFL talent, but it is not close to the same level.

hence the number of kickers out number linebackers.

During Miles tenure, it ran for a 5-year span.

The game plans for both teams were remarkably similar. The difference in the game was Alabama making FGs instead of missing them, McCarron completing similar passes in The Rematch that he didn’t in the GOTC, and an inability to win the field position battle with turnovers and ST play.

That and superhuman strength from the Alabama front seven that magically appeared two months later that allowed them to play five yards in the backfield every snap.

Do you even know the level of talent on the team in 05?

Go look at the 06, 07, 08 drafts and see how many LSU players were drafted.

2005 was fated to be USC v Texas. Nothing LSU did was going to change that. Undefeated LSU still wouldn’t have played for the NC.

2006 was insanely talented team that should’ve contended for the NC. But I also look at the two losses: AU flat bought the refs. LSU was simply not winning that game.
The Florida loss, on the road, was fluky. A phantom holding penalty negated an early TD, Jamarcus then fumbles away at the goal line, and LSU had like 5 turnovers yet was still within striking distance against the eventual NCs.

2007 won the NC so I don’t know what your problem is there. Many teams have backed into the NC game. Like 2011 Bama did.

I’m well aware of the stat.

So why were you talking about all of the talent Saban left Miles?

LSU leading the NFL in players in 2017 has very little to do with what Saban left in 2005.

Bama is always catered to, but my beef with 07 is NO other coach in the BCS era played for a title with 2 losses.
To my knowledge.

It went back multiple years, and it backs the assertion that Miles played against teams that were less talented than his.

Wouldnt you agree that if Saban has the number 1 recruiting class every single year, and a year goes by that he doesn't play for the title he has underachieved from a coaching standpoint.
