The process is very fluid as most of you know. A kid could be dead set on LSU then get a call literally seconds later and the offer to sign gets doubled...or tripled.

Once that happens...everything said and done prior to that phone call is meaningless.

I think I read somewhere that Lucas already had a child, so he may have more responsibilities on his plate.

Congrats to him!

Shocked LeBlanc got $500K, he has to take that.
His summer play was not stellar.

Will not be shocked for what Ranaudo gets - best agent in the business.

Cechinni was never coming to LSU - to get drafted that high after missing his season due to injury meant he told them he was ready to go pro. Otherwise they would not have drafted him that high. Why LSU offered the younger Cechinni is beyond me because he won't be coming either.

I saw a few people claiming he was going to be our starting cf. I think Mikie will have something to say about that if he would have came. Mikie will be playing cf for us next year Fyi

To me the worst thing about the process is how late it all happens, it doesn't give the coaches enough time to replace somebody when he signs. You have kids moving into apartments and getting ready to start school and then they are suddenly gone.

If all the offers come last minute then there really is no reason that the process couldn't end early. It is pretty clear that MLB can give a shite about college baseball with this and the fact that the draft occurs in the middle of the postseason as a huge distraction.

What I don't understand is it seems that MLB has all the leverage, not the kids. They can say what they want, but the MLB can wait till the last second and then make an offer, putting pressure on the kids to say yes or no and not have a lot of time to make the decision. I am talking about signing bonuses, not the contract. The way this day started, would not be suprised we lose Ranaudo, Lee, Gausman, Jones, Eades, Ross, Cecchini, etc.

its easy to replace something you never had. We were basically going to move a starter from last year to make room for him if he proved to be good enough in the fall.

and he isnt much faster than Mahtook. If at all.

Don't blame MLB...blame the agents for holding these kids out to the deadline...a lot of these deals could have been done in June had they been honest with what it would take to sign them in the first place.

Bullsh#t! These teams haven't even talked to the players, much less made offers! How can a deal get done when a player is waiting on an offer. The system and MLB's arbitrary mid-August deadline are totally the problem. The deadline should be June 30 at the latest for all involved.
