Eatel says it's looking good for SEC Channel

Just talked to my guy I know over at EATEL and he feels very confident they get the deal done as well. He said now that the Cox deal is finished he feels very good about Eatel getting their's shortly as well.
When I asked him if he thought they would require extra charges or be able to do like Cox did with no extra charges on the digital upgrade package he said very good chance no extra fees but definitely nothing over say 10$ a month increase.

Literally was just listening to Moscona announce the Cox deal and was wondering about Eatel.
Thanks for the news

Hope so, plenty of cable companies still need to get on board. Still plenty of time left though.

Two people with eatel told me it was 99% finalized but no announcement yet officially and the channel hadn't been determined but would most likely be added to the basic channel lineup without any fees. Hope so. Otherwise Id just add it for the first month of football and then cancel until the first baseball game I wanted to see.

Most cable companies will get it before the launch. The only big player that isn't getting it will be directv

And still probably won't have WatchESPN.

EATEL' s made a post on their FB page pretty much sayin "relax, we're gonna have it". They must be flooded with calls today after cox made their announcement. Serious damage control going on over there, lol

For half the price of Cox and more channels and better service I don't need WatchESPN

Eatel is more expensive than Cox and service has gone down the shitter over the years since they've grown and gotten a little greedy.

Response I received from Eatel.
We are still under negotiations with ESPN. Our current contract does not end until July 31st. At that time we anticipate having this network available for our customers.

I have Comcast. No contract yet according to the advocate this morning. But Cox says 69.99 a month for that package. That would be a big increase, right?
Hell if comcast gets the contract then a 10 buck increase would be tolerable.

How anybody thinks that a local content provider in SEC territory won't have the SECN is beyond me.

I had Cox for 15 years. Got up to $230 for cable and internet. Switched to Eatel and got every premium channel, faster internet, and much better service so far for almost half that price with a 2 year contract. That's over $100 I save each month and I get more in return. I took a piss on the Cox box and then returned it to them for being so shitty over the years.
