2 runs on 14 hits, including getting the first batter on base in 8 of 9 innings. Yea I would definitely say it wasn't Eades fault we lost the game. We didn't have any clutch hitting and we were careless in the field. Bottom line.

I thought it was really interesting that PM announced The Cune as the starter today over Glenn who pitched about as well as he could have last weekend. My guess is SC is used to seeing lefties and PM wanted to stick with a righty and give the Cune an opportunity.

I guess Montgomery was fricking awful for USCe then. You sound like a crybaby. If you dont like Eades, then thats your choice. Eades isn't as dominating as Nola, but by no means is he in jeopardy of losing #2 spot...barring injury.

The defense behind him was pathetic aside from the double play which wasn't. Those long fly balls (same long fly balls Montgomery allowed) are called outs. Only 2 basehits were stroked.

So you dont think usc hit the ball hard consistently yesterday? I dont hate the kid. Heck, i was calling for him tobe the friday guy a month ago. Regardless of stats, i dont know how someone could say he was sharp if they watched where his pitches were and how hardhe was hit.

They had plenty of pop-ups. We missed some routine plays. I thought he pitched well. Carolina is a good team and he pitched a winning performance last night. He certainly pitched better than Montgomery.

They really didn't that many hard shots. He went 7 with no earned runs. You can't really argue with that. Hell, I would have let him start the eighth. I'll never understand why pitchers are taken out while they're getting outs. Let him start the eighth, if he allows a base-runner, pull him.

I was proud of Eades last night. We win that game 8 times out of 10 with a performance like that from our starter.

What did ya'll watch? Eades looked bad IMO, he was fortunate. They knocked the ball all over the ballpark.

I was wondering the same thing. He got in trouble every inning. He did NOT pitch well.

I'm glad he didn't pitch into the 8th. I think his problem the last 2 or 3 weeks was a tired arm. Last weeks short outing I believe helped him get back some life in his arm. His breaking pitches looked much sharper.

I can live with that, but Joey should've started the ninth.

So now our pitcher needs 27 K's to satisfy our fan base? We're back on top!

The only thing he could've done better than allowing zero earned runs against the #10 team in the country is strike everybody out.

Not everyone is going to have a Nola like performance every game. People forget how fortunate we are to have two solid pitchers.

So because he gave up some long fly balls he got hit hard? C'mon an out is an out. 2 of the 6 hits he gave up should have been outs.

Lets not forget the horrible ump behind the plate and the imaginary balk on Cotton. His strike zone was all over the place the entire game.

Eades was awesome--He gave up 6 hits, of which 2 should not have occurred. 2 unearned runs in the first inning---he really shut down the #10 team in the Nation and CWS champion 2 of the last 3 years. The umpire was awful--he fought for everything.
Kudos to the kid.

You guys need to go back and look at some if his performances from earlier in the SEC. They were very similar to last night.
