Cotton said he balked.
Ofcourse it was a balk. But barely. It's chicken shite to call that in the ninth in a 1 run game with a runner on third. The ump had to be looking for a reason to get that guy home.

You guys need to go back and look at some if his performances from earlier in the SEC. They were very similar to last night.
this...eades doesn't get a ton of K's, never has. he gets hit a lot but it either stays in the IF or is a pop up to the OF. last couple of weeks they have just found the holes. last night it was poor fielding for the most part.

So they should umpire the game differently because its the 9th inning?

We didn't lose because of the balk call. We had lead off batter on in 8 out of 9 innings, had 14 hits, and only scored 2 runs and we had 2 errors (yes Bregs is human too) that's why we lost. It's baseball. We need to want it more than they do today and get the hits when we need them the most and play error free baseball.

we lost because hcb didn't go duffy

Did he K anyone last night?
I guess we will just have to agree to disagree on his performance last night. He's a gritty pitcher, and always has been. He's just leaving the ball up a little too much for my taste.
Still think he should just always throw from the stretch

He struck out 3 batters last night.
He looked last night pretty much how he looked his first few SEC starts. He gave up 22 hits in his first 3 SEC games but only 2 runs. That's the kind if pitcher he is. If he wasn't good last night, then he wasn't good then either.

Yea Eades is always working himself in and out of trouble. It's kind of been his deal since he has been to LSU.

I was thinking last night, the thought of drafting Eades in the first couple rounds would scare the hell out of me if I was a GM

Yeah. Last night was one of his better performances, so I don't see how anyone could say that he had a bad night, but at the same time, all his usual weaknesses were right there on display again.
For some reason he still thinks that his talent is so good that he can just throw relatively straight stuff high in the zone and get away with it. The mental part of his game has yet to catch up with his physical talent. Still, a gutsy performance overall, and you can't really ask more from your Saturday starter than that.
P.S. -- Yes, Cotton balked.

I tend to agree with you. Same goes for Jacoby.
Posted on 4/28/13 at 10:56 am to bubbz
JaCoby seems to have a problem turning his hips on pitches. If he fixes that little problem, the sky is the limit!

Jacoby has improved a little this week. He's doing what we need him to do, but he could be so much more.
Posted on 4/28/13 at 11:07 am to josh336
JaCoby is now 17-38 (.447) in LSU's last 4 weekend series against #25 Kentucky, #15 Arkansas, Alabama, & #11 South Carolina, all of which have winning conference records except for Kentucky.
