I mean LSU’s best win is vs a not very good South Carolina team and they lost to a mediocre USC team. Beat Ole Miss and then people will believe.

But the thing about the Top 25, and not many people realize this, is that you have to have 25 teams in it.

You can justify dropping LSU down a bit if you don't think they are very good. Like 18, 20, 22, etc. But there is no logical reason that LSU should not be ranked.

with the playoff system the polls really don’t mean anything

Sure he is, but he shouldn't be entitled to having that opinion on a national stage. Just like the Heisman voting or the pre-season conference voting, where someone has a guy that finishes 12th in Heisman voting winning the thing, or someone has Vandy winning the conference. Those type of people, that don't take it seriously, or have a bias that's way below the line, shouldn't be entitled to having their opinion matter.

They may not mean as much as they once did, but they mean something.

The playoff committee is influenced by polls, and it's also good for PR, recruiting, fan excitement, TV coverage (Gameday) and time slots, among other things.

LSU right now not in the top 10? Fair. LSU not in the top 25? Suck my dick.

Not talking about the coaches poll. Talking about all the media generated lists, rankings, etc. But you knew that.

AP poll is consensus of sports media all over the country. You have bias across the board so it evens out. It is, what it is. If he does not see LSU as top 25 that’s his opinion. Who cares? It’s the aggregate opinions of all.
