Was at the game, and it looked like Duplantis made the diving catch in top of 9th.
Did they show in slow motion on TV? If he did make the catch, why didn’t Mainieri use a coaches challenge? New SEC rules allow for Coach video review!

We asked him from right field right after the play, he shook his head no.

It hopped. Replay confirmed it.

It bounced and you couldn't tell clearly whether it bounced in his glove or hit the turf so bounce = no catch. CPM had all of the resources he needed to decide to not challenge.

Maybe I have officially been ruined by the rant but I always read threads like these as someone looking for confirmation that the coach didn’t do something perfectly so they can blame the coach for everything and let out their coach bashing eating at their heart. Sorry to OP if this is not what you meant just how I read them.

You are correct, not what I was implying. Just asking for an answer! Was discussing with someone the catch and missed the reply on video board. Another fan near by said the video board showed it was a catch. So just wondering if they decided to do away with video challenge.

Yep I’m sure if Duplantis thought he had caught it he would’ve put up more of an arguement.
